when I turn 21?? In texas (I don't know if they do this in every state) for people under 21 their licenses are horizontal and for over 21 they are vertical.

most states have a license that is different in some way for those under 21. contact your local DMV for info.

Your license is good until it expires. The date should appear on the license somewhere and normally coincides with your birthday. The layout is based on your age when issued. if you present a license that has the look of an over 21 person they don't look at the birth date as closely. If you present an under 21 license, they will just verify the birth date.

I'm in Europe and it's completely differentes,here after your 18 years old u can have license for a validity of 10 years and it's standards.

in Indiana they have to be renewed at 21 and then every 4 years following

You don't have to get a new license until the old one expires or you move.

in illinos you have to do it at 21 and every four years unless you lose your license.

No you do not. They will correct it when you renew your license. Also they do that here in Mass as well.
