in michigan so many jobs have been shipped out of country and the few that remain only employ a small amount of people! why do people try to get others fired just because they do not like them?is it because they are such sloppy workers themselves that they are jealous of this workers dedication to quality and quanity and not wasting time? my daughter was suspended because a supervisor was mad that she got to her work area early to do paperwork for her shift,she has done this for over 3 years!! he starts yelling at her to get off the line cause he says his people are clening (there is no one on the line!) he proceeds to shove her and yelling at her threating to walk her out and grabbed her upper arm.when they both went upstairs to talk about this he of course denied it and the HR person as much as called her a liar saying none of our supervisors would lay a hand on a employee or they would be fired so he did not do it!!!! he did do it!!! this is a union shop ,shesnever beenintrouble!!!

today she went for a meeting and three employees gave written statements against her!!! they do not like her cause she gets more parts out on her line then they do and are kissing the supervisors *** !!!MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! does getting someone fired or suspended at CHRISTMAS on false charges really the way to do business???? her union said there is no way you will be fired!!! she should have only gotten a verbal written warning there are procedures to follow,she has perfect attendance and no write ups or points!!! companys keep lousy workers with drug or booze problems because they are a part of a select group and punish their best employees because they are not part of the politically correct agenda!!! this makes me sick!!! the liars and all others who promote and condone immoral behavior over the truth will get theirs in time!!! this has weakened our great nation and it must stop!!! the truth must prevail not prejuidice,jealousy and reverse dicrimination!

If you cant get cooperation with the company to investigate or take corrective action, you may want to consult a lawyer and think in terms of a civil suit or file charges with the police department who would begin an investigation.

Putting your hands on someone like that is never acceptable.

Your daughter should quit that job as soon as possible. Support her on this!
She will be fine, and possibly even find a better job for herself. In the end, this entire situation may turn out to be a blessing.
Maybe she should try bringing a small tape recorder with her to work one day, discreetly in her pocket and try to tape any incriminating conversations. They have digital recorders that are extremely small at Future Shop and Walmart. That way you will have evidence to support your claims and can contact a lawyer and sue.

The answer is in the first part of the question. Competition for the few remaining good jobs, breeds cut-throat practices by some workers.

I have been told by co-workers in the past ''slow down, you're making everyone look bad''. Once, when I was younger, I listened to this nonsense, and found a proverbial knife in my back.

Like the previous answer said, competition for jobs.

Your daughter should go to the union for advice on how to handle this situation. They are able to help her, should be able to give her legal advice, and will intervene for her. If it were me I would be tempted to take a tape recorder with me whenever I went to work to make sure there is proof of the conduct.

Laws in each state vary, she should find out if it is legal to tape record before she tries it. Remember what happened to what's her name in the white house scandal.

Capitals, periods and such help much.

That is much of the reason that jobs have been shipped overseas. In many places people speak english and of course it is cheaper for the company.

If the people can put words together and stand up then those jobs might not go elsewhere.

Union shops do not want above par performance, as it is a threat to their continued existence. They want the employees to feel completely dependent on them for raises and fair treatment.

Welcome to the rust belt!

It seems the only way to get a good job is to know someone. Its all politics. I have also been ousted by my coworkers for outperforming. They will isolate you. Its dog eat dog, there is so much competition it takes a good college degree in order to not be disposable.
