Car number 1 parks on a local street, aginst the curb. Car number 2 parks in front car number 1 aginst the curb. Car number 2 hits car number 1.

As it turns out, car number 1 was illegally parked 3 feet away from the curb. Although, car 2 was in fact the car who caused the crash while having full awarness of where car 1 was.

Which car deserves the punishment?

I.E. How were the rights of a trail, rights to an appeal, rights of Miranda warnings derived?

I want to file bankruptcy in March of 08. I wouldnt file until after I cashed my income tax check so that I could pay to file. My question is, if I get a 5000 dollar income tax check, I spend a 1000 on the bankruptcy, do I get to keep the leftover 4000 and spend it on whatever I want? And what about the following years when I file my income tax, do they get taken as well? I would be filing a chapter 7 I believe. If thats the one that writes off your debts.

Ok A couple months ago I got arrested for giving false name and information,Driving while license suspended/revokes(3rd time),Criminal attempt to commit a crime,and Possession of tools to commit a crime.My court date is on the 12th of december what kind of punishment am I looking at?And how should I handle this situation and also it is my 3rd offense driving on a suspended but I pled nolo to one charge.

i don't have a certificate. i've had one in 4 years - and that was done by a cowboy, transco condemed my fire the day after he said it was fine.this was 3 years ago.i am a private tenant with 2 fires and 1 VERY old boiler that has blown out every day since i moved in.i'm scared to leave fires on at night.
my boiler broke 6 weeks ago,i have spoken to my landlord 7 times in 6 weeks asking for something to be done as my children are cold on a night (my daughter had frost on the inside of her window) and are unable to bath. he just keeps saying," leave it with me".... i feel like ripping the boiler out and doing just that! when i try "nagging" he just tells me it's my responsability. can he do this? my tenency says, " tenent responsable for all repairs including gas safety certificates/checks"

As a teen. I myself am worried about money issues in the world. Most of us are all striving for peace and we all know money has gone outrageous. If you think we should live in a world without taxes, and without bills Sign here if you will help do something about this. If we keep giving our money to the government and just four taxes and bills on electricity etc we are all wasting our lives, we are being beaten down pennyless and soon will be completely pennyless if no one does anything. Electricity shouldn't be paid for and bills they should be a free way of living. We need only to pay for the things we want other than the things we need. Sign now to do something about it.

We were contacted by an individual claiming to have a puppy she wants to find a home for in west africa. She claims to be a missionary and can't keep the puppy. We received a picture of the puppy, and she says she will send all papers,etc. if we pay for shipping. It is supposedly 250.00. 200.00 to ship and fifty to have the puppy checked on in transit. All she wants is a good home and is asking nothing else. She has used a yahoo and a hotmail address. I am really suspicious of this and when I contacted an airline about shipping, she said it sounded like a scam. She said there are alot of scams coming from africa. please find out if this is legitimate.

My boss is a penny pinching clueless fool who is too tight to employ a cleaner.
His most recent idea is that the staff must clean our communal common room- IN OUR OWN TIME! (not in work time)

It is a large room and it would take over half an hour.
He has said that whoever does not will not be able to use the room.
Surely he cannot lawfully ask us to work for free, and then punish us if we don't agree???

I have design a new type of algorithm for software applications that could turn out to be a prettty good invention

My question is: is it possible to patent or get the rights somehow to an algorithm so that other people can't take advantage of it?

I am renting the upstairs of a house (apartment #2). The downstairs is Apartment #1. We have one mailbox outside with NO name, just house number. When I go to get mail, the neighbors mail is in there. When I ask her to give us a separate one, she doesn't listen to me, talks about something else like how high her bills are.

Marijuana is currently listed as a Schedule I Dangerous Drug. Drugs must meet all three of the following criteria in order to qualify for this scheduling:
(A) The drug or other substance has high potential for abuse.
(B) The drug or other substance has no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States.
(C) There is a lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.

Since the evidence, both scientific and anecdotal, overwhelmingly shows that marijauna, while not completely harmless, has a lower risk of abuse than does alcohol, caffeine, or nicotine; has many accepted medical uses; and has a lower level of toxicity than drugs many of us allow our children to ingest (caffeine), why won't the government admit it is scheduled improperly?

Who stands to profit the most from keeping marijuana in its current status? Big medicine? Big tobacco? Big alcohol? Drug cartels?
