I think that it shouldn't be any of the Federal Government's business if I wear a seatbelt or not.
It's a state's rights issue. Each state makes its own traffic laws, and should have the right to make any seatbelt rules they want.

How does a state wear a seat belt? It would have to be a pretty big seat belt. Anyway, if you mean U.S. citizen, I am not sure under what constitutional grant the federal government would have the authority to pass such a law. Not that it would be a bad one. It does seem rather hard to enforce though. Why not educate the citizens rather than trying to pass laws that would be hard to enforce and very likely inequitably put to use (as in policemen using no seatbelt as an excuse to pull over people of certain races).

One argument for seat belt laws and helmet laws is that it IS other people's business whether or not others wear them. If you get into an accident, become paralyzed or brain-dead on life support because you failed to wear a seat belt or helmet, not only will it affect insurance rates for other consumers, but we may end up bearing the cost of your life support in numerous other ways. Think about it.

I don't believe it should be a law for adults. I think they should have their kids in a child seat or seat belt depending on their age. What really boils my blood is little kids in the back of a pick-up truck. If there are seat belt laws, why don't the police stop them???!!!!

well seat belt do help keep you alive to some extent but i don't think they have a right to force it on us. I mean seriously shouldn't it be our choice to choose how we protect our sevles. It is retarded that we get tickets for that and they aren't just a couple of bucks either. I believe little kids should wear one because they don't know how to make choices by them selves and it wouldn't be fair to them to not protect them. Other than that the driver is old enough to make their own choice of wether they want to help protect them selves or not.

Unconstitutional if you're talking about a Federal law. Motor vehicle laws are the jurisdiction of the states. Frankly, in your broken English, it's hard to tell what you're talking about.

what about it? Many states already have that law on the books. Like it or not, the statistics support that seatbelts DO save lives.

Not wild about it. Makle your own choices; and I don't believe the police should stop you ONLY for a belt violation; in conjunction with other offences maybe
