have a battery charge against me, this is my first charge and the "violence" was very minor. (not trying to make an excuse). For anyone who has ever had or knows someone who's had this type of situation and has been ordered to take anger management courses, how many sessions did you have to take? My lawyer is recommending that I be proactive and take them ahead of time but the person I like has a mandatory 12-sessions and I don't wanna waste my $$$ by doing these 12 and then the court says do 6 or 9 sessions.
The reason I am saying that I don't want to waste any money is because I didn't strike anyone. It was incidental and she didn't believe me so she called the police. I am a very calm person and do not need these sessions. Sure everyone is going to say they don't need these but I SERIOUSLY don't need these, which is why I don't wanna waste my $$$.

A witness testified in a murder trail. The medical examiner's report proved his testimony was impossible. The DA had the witness demonstrate five times what he claimed happened. It was proved it could not have happened the way he claimed. The DA did not charge this man with perjury even though it was proved he lied. What can we do.

I live in Georgia. I will be 18 in April. I have had my GED for 1.5 years now and I have been attending community college ever since. Mostly because my High School did not offer that many classes. I have signed up for school for next semester at a 4 year university for spring as a transfer student. I am staying with a friend up there (NO SEXUAL RELATIONS!!) because dorms are too expensive. If I dont go to school next semester my mom will lose child support, which is paying for my college. My mom refuses to let me go because she says that she has legal consent over me and she doesnt trust my friend. Even though I will be 18 in the middle of the semester. Are there any loopholes I can work with as far as Georgia Code goes?? I will have to spend thousands more if I do not go. I need a certain class that is only offered once a semester to be considered a full time student. I will have to wait 1 more year to be in full attendance to this college. The college is out of state. PLEASE HELP!!!

So I applied for a local police officer position... well I passed the initial oral interview, the medical screening, the agilty test and during the agility test we got fitted for uniforms. Well the last step was an interview with the Police Chief.. well it was about 10 minutes long, the Chief spoke about the benefits, rookie school, what he expects from us, and also 4-5 people out of about 14 won't be hired. He said he would call me by Saturday and let me know if I get a job offer.. After the interview we were sent back across the street where we were "fitted" for uniforms again, and also guys were calling us new recruits..

However, if we don't officially have the job yet, why were we being fitted for uniforms? And making it all the way to the Chief's interview? Do I have a shot at this or no?

I work at a indoor racing company as a cashier. They gave us a sheet of what our duties are when we got hired. We're opening up in a new place tomorrow and they're making us go in and clean and bleach and basically act as their *****. Usually we do clean up after parties but why do we have to set up and prepare a whole kitchen?? I don't understand this. Shouldn't I have a right not to be fired if I don't want to do this. I didn't sign up to set up a whole company, just as the damn cashier!

One study is: Black women without a college degree tend to have more children.
Now, i don't have a college degree, but i have helped put all my younger sibling through college: a police officer, who went back for a bachelor's degree, a nurse, a criminal justice degree/going back to study law, and my husband whom left his career in the food industry, and is now a nursig student.
We have four children, but look those i've helped.
I have to be honest, i believe its true, but the reason why, is not being addressed, its(the study) looked upon as if we just do not have any goals.
I grew up in a household where my mom stayed home, and finished her career later in life, and i find myself doing the same. Education has no limit.

Every female in my family who's of age has gone to and completed college, there's five daughters, and two sons. i'm the only one whom have not finished. My sister's all have four children.

i would like to hear what you all think, men as well as women.

this is what happened. i was leaving work (home depot) & i saw some candy corn pumpkins on the ground, so i picked about 10 up and thinking it would be funny to place them all around a coworkers (Bill) car since he wasnt leaving til later.the next wk i came to wrk all my coworker friends told me that Bill was furious & wanted to know who did it he talkd to my boss and accused me of doing it but my boss did nothing. Bill never asked me if i did. A wk later the store manager brings me to his ofice and asks me to write a statement because Bill complained saying i did it. i of course denied doing it and wrote that if i had found any new info id give them it. store manager said they have some video footage nd there would be an investigation and he sent me home hr into my shift and told me that i'd be called when the investigation was over for . can i get fired when i was off the clock and it was not vandalism they were placed not broken or smushed. yeah this is as dumb as it sounds but true

Ok tonight my neighbor from across the street that I do not know at all came to my door and said that a lady called him on his phone and stated that they are trying to get ahold of me. She called him by name and everything. She left him a number which is a California number (I'm in Texas) and a name of which I have no clue who is. So I call this number and get a voice mail just saying her name and that she is unavailable. I have not received a call from this number on my cell phone, husbands cell phone, or my home phone. She also knew that I had just moved into this house. The only thing I could think of is a bill collector on my student loans. Is this a violation of privacy to go calling people's neighbors to collect a debt? What if this man was some type of child molester and showed up while my children were at home alone? Any help you guys can provide would be great!

I was delivered papers by an officer today. I have no idea what half of it means. Yes, I know I'm being taken to court, but what does the stuff mean? It says "You must serve a motion or answer within 20 days after service of this original notice upon you and within a reasonable time thereafter, file your motion or answer" WTF does that mean? What does serving a motion mean?

After seeing that disarming the law abiding population has not prevented violent crime and armed crime has increased, is it time for the government to radically rethink the UK's firearms laws?

Should we return to our right as guaranteed in the Bill of Rights to 'Freedom to have arms for defence'?

Should we stop allowing our laws on firearms ownership and self-defence be dictated by emotional knee-jerk reactions, and instead restore the most fundamental human right; the right to protect our lives?

Is it time to form a rational policy that will allow us to protect ourselves, having seen that the police that we were told would protect us have not been able to meet the challenge since the people lack the will to to defend themselves?

Please do not comment on comparisons to American laws and statistics unless you have actually done the reading and research to put you in a position of actual knowledge rather than the popular (and misinformed) view.

Thanks!
