A witness testified in a murder trail. The medical examiner's report proved his testimony was impossible. The DA had the witness demonstrate five times what he claimed happened. It was proved it could not have happened the way he claimed. The DA did not charge this man with perjury even though it was proved he lied. What can we do.

Eye witness testimony is some of the most unreliable there is, even though juries will accept it when they shouldn't - as shown by the number of 'rapists' being cleared by DNA evidence.
Perjury is changing your story or lying about facts you knew. Five times this person was challenged on their version and they stuck with their story. The only way to charge them with perjury would be to find evidence that they wrote or said that they knew what they said wasn't true.

The person gave their story on what happened. Unless they changed their story on the stand, it is hard to prove they are lying. Perhaps they are dumb enough to believe what they said. The DA's job is to prove the witness wrong- which apparently they did.

A district lawyer has prosecutorial discretion. likely, she or he will not report perjury costs. It only does not take place. in case you have been extremely interested in it, you may desire to have probably asked your lawyer on the top of the trial.

Nothing, except campaign against his opponent in the next election.

Perjury is a crime. The decision to press criminal charges is totally in the hands of the prosecutor.
