The age of consent in Texas is 18 for both boys AND girls, except that someone who is 17 may legally have sex with someone who is less than 2 years older than them.
No 16 year old, boy or girl, can legally have sex.

depends on the judge you are before if it comes to court!
In the state of IL - I had a babysitter who I found out was sleeping with a 31 yr old man and she was only 15 yrs old, the states attorney told her parents they can not do anything as she is over the age of 14 and it becomes a fine line of her chosing her own sexual choices...to me it was sick!!! That was back in 1999......i asked a judge at the time about it and he agreed with the states attorney - can you believe it?
