Do anyone you know in what year it went up each time?

In 1998 it was $5.15, it's now $5.85, and will go up to $6.55 next year and to $7.25 in 2009.

EDIT - The chart below shows the rate since it was introduced by President Eisenhower in 1955.

FMW was increased to $5.15 on 9-1-97. It remained at that rate until it was increased to $5.85 on 7-24-07. It is scheduled to go to $6.55 on 7-24-08. There are exceptions for anyone under age 20 during the frst 90 days of employment.
