I work in a hospital, the surgical waiting area. The policy is, to validate the parking tickets, of the family members, of the patients, who are having surgery on that day. Not the day before. Only the day of surgery. This particular gentleman felt I should have validated his ticket because his aunt was having surgery, but it wasn't scheduled until the next day, he was just visiting her. I explained hospital policy to him, tried to give him information about purchasing a parking pass, he did not want it. His response was, you should change your policy. He then said he has a relative on the board of directors, and wanted my name, so he could report, my behavior to this person. I feel I've done nothing wrong, some of my co-workers, said they would have just stamped his ticket just to shut him up. What would you have done?
