So here is the situation - Police do a search on a house - they do have a no knock warrent - they find nothing illegal in the premises - so everyone is charged with disorderly conduct and two people are charged with head of house hold -

Went to court and plead not guilty to both charges because there was nothing in the house - ( correction one person had weed on them but it was not enough for sale only consumption and it was inside their pocket they werent even charged with possession ) - i made the mistake of requesting a bench trial because i was assuming at least one of the charges if not both were to be thrown out - the judge at first refused to allow me a lawyer said the charges werent important enough if was a non jailable offense to grant me a public defender - ( i dont make enough to hire a lawyer ) so after entering my plea and them changing the court date a few times - ( less than 3 ) we went back and they tried to get us to cop a plea ( cont )

i refused because i dont feel i should have been charged with anything - well in the long run the da was pushing for jail time - ( 1yr total ) i know public defenders are buisy so they dont dedicate alot of time to the case and the judge finally agreed to give me one - but with it being a bench trial and the attitude she was giving ( the same judge signed the warrent that we were haveing our case in front of ) i saw it better fit to just change my plea to guilty and get it over with -

i know i cant change any of this but im just curious as to whether or not they can actually charge 2 people with head of household ?

That's why it is best to have legal representation. The system of law within the United States has some clever "loopholes" to get you. What's so bad about this, is that those that are "innocent" are usually the ones who get stricken with "jail time" and other "bad situations." I wish you success. Peace, Love and God Bless.
