My son has told me that his dad has been getting mail from my step grandma. She lives in Ohio and she sends christmas cards and birthday cards everywhere. I thought she just stopped doing that. what are some ways for me to get them?

Sorry she sends them every year. I haven't gotten anything from her in 10 years.

yes it is, especially if he has opened them and they came through the united states postal service. you should put in a change of address and also inform all of your relatives of your new address

Contact your grandma and make sure she is sending them. Then tell her your new address and not to send them to the old one. pretty hard to recover ten year old mail, but if he is taking your current mail (not just a wrongly adressed Christmas card) and won't give it to you, that's against the law.

He may legally return them to the post office, or forward them to you.

As to whether he can throw them away unopened, well I am not sure if he can do that.

He definately is not allowed to open them and read them.
