I was cut at work. Instead of sending me to the hospital to determine whether or not I needed stitches and a tetnus shot, they sent me home. I missed 6 hours of work because of this. The next day, a day that I was not scheduled to work, I was in pain. I called to tell them that I was going to the hospital. When I got there, it was determined that if I had come in when it happened that I would have gotten stitches. The gave me a tetnus shot, cleaned my cut and had to leave it open. My employer has told me that they would pay for hospital charges. But are they required to pay me for the hours that I missed work? I live in Mississippi, if the law varies by state.

And Mike Nifong has resigned from District Attorney don't you think the 'stripper' who willingly and knowingly falsly accused the players of rape be tried for perjury?
Shouldn't she be held accountable for breaking the law by lying on the stand and making up stories just so she could inprison some upper class white males?
Even Bill Clinton who was President of the United States paid the ultimate price for lying on the stand.
So shouldn't someone who'se a mere stripper be held to the same standards of the law as the President?
What are your thoughts on this matter?

I am working on a project on my own. It includes compiling fotos and memories from a local building which as been abandoned and forgotten. This building has been around since the 20's and has a treasure load of history!!

I wonder if anyone can sue me for getting this book published.

I called the City and they gave me the run around. I finally talked to a man from City hall who knows the owners and I asked him to forward my telephone number but they have not called me.

I am currently living in Missouri and my daughters father lives in Illinois where our daughter was born. My daughter wants to attend college in California. According to Illinois law my daughter father will have to pay for her college expenses, California has no provisions. I need to know if since my daughter was born in Illinois and the child support order also took place there if Illinois law will apply to him paying for her college or if since she is attending college in California their laws will apply.

How can he possibly atone for the hell he put those Duke LaCrosse players through? Let alone the damage he's done to the legitimacy of the criminal justice system.

And what about the knee-jerk members of the faculty and administration who so freely and publicly condemned the players on the basis of the accusation alone?

My parents left my sister with me a month ago due to issues in the home they came back to get her and my sister refused to leave with them. The cops got called because my stepfather through my 14 year old sister acrossed the room in to the wall. The cops left my sister in my custody for the night but until legal action was taken on my behave they had full right to come back to get her at anytime. How long can they leave her with me with no contact or support before its considered abandonment? If they leave her with me for a month and a half or more with no contact is there anything I can legally do to stop this because I have two children of my own involved that are getting attached.

My work colleauge is being sent horrible emails by members of her ex-husbands family. including swearing and name calling. also called her her murderer, and saying she abandoned her child.
also another person has been harassing her friend for ages, and now is sending her messages of sexual nature, but not directed at her. rather describing sexual acts regarding her friend.
she has never responded with swearing or insults, as she is a very timid, mild person.
i have sent both these ppl emails to tell them its harrassment and whatever, but they persist.
my poor colleauge is in tears and very distressed.
i searched the web for some kind of legal resource, but it only relates to workplace sexual harrassment.
i really want to nail these pricks for her sake.
what can anyone suggest?

I was watching a youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHMUq5Oqyo0 about the most recent riot concerning the one child policy.

The video toward the end has Japanese newscasters talking about the penalties for violation the one child policy. I knew about the heavy fines that could be imposed but they also talked about (in subtitles) that extra children could be denied Chinese Citizenship.

Is this true or a case of bad reporting or just bad subtitles?

TIA

There is a home accross the street from where i live where a mass murder took place. A drunken father stabbed his two kids and wife to death before he hung himself. About a year later, a family moved into that very home. Would you move into a home with that kind of history?

Jail population hits new high

Press Assoc. - 38 minutes agoThe prison population in England and Wales has reached a new all-time high of 80,977.

The record was up 174 on a previous high set just three weeks ago.

It means the jails are just 481 places away from their absolute capacity.

It included 415 prisoners being housed in police stations and 24 in court cells.

Director of the Prison Reform Trust, Juliet Lyon, said: "Forget rehabilitation - imprisonment is now reduced to a dangerous game of musical cells.

"Prison after prison is reaching its safe operating limit so people are being decanted into unsuitable court and prison cells.

"In some cases, they are stacked up in escort vans reeking of urine. This is no way to run a criminal justice system."

It came on the day it was revealed that prisoners were paid £2.5 million
