My ex was out of our childrens lives for 5 yrs, last May he asked to see them and i allowed it hoping for the best. He has not seen or spoken to them in about 4 months. He pays support to keep out of jail but shows no interest in them at all. I live in Indiana and i am unsure of the laws as to abandonment. I have a fiance that adores my children and they love him, he is wanting to adopt them once we are married, but i would like to just do away with my ex' involvment or lack there of long before then. My kids are 10 and 6 and they really have no relationship with their bio dad, they don't even ask about him. What can i do to save them from a father that has no interest? He has 5 other children but only sees 1 daily and i don't want my kids to lose their bother and sisters. I guess i really need some advice. thanks

Instead of a hard cap make tort reform like this. Cost of Medical bills, plus the cost of lost wages to deal with medical conditoin and a certain percentage of the payments for the previous 2 for pain and suffering. Like if someone leaves a pile of eggs on the floor and doesn't clean it up they get the say 12 grand it cost for hospital stays doctor visits and physical therapy + 20 grand for the lost wages due to hospitalization and rehab then say 20 percent of the 42 grand already rewarded for pain and suffering. Does this sound fair?

Long story short (I am 17 now being a senior in highschool this fall. My sister is 18 going to a 40k a year school next fall), well my dad had an affairs with lots of women during the last 10ish years, and things with him has never been good since. He is an airline caption who makes quite a lump sum of money a year (120k+) or something, but he never does anything right. My mom has one credit card of his she uses for groceries and all, and now it doesn't appear to work, and now checks are bouncing left and right, but he doesnt care. He won't even want to help my sister for college, and i still have another year of private school and college also. Wait so if my mom files for divorce we don't get much, unless my Dad files for it (they're still married). Well is there ANY way we can get money out of him. He is a pathological lier, immature, and abusive. He needs to help out family. Is there anyway a lawyer, attorneym or anything we can do? Thanks.

If a property being passed on after someone has died is valued at above the threshold of £285, 000 (England). How do I legally find loopholes to avoid the taxman getting hold of any of this money? House prices nowadays do not reflect incomes so it's not as if I'm asking an unfair question.

I had my 341 meeting today and Im so glad that this is over with. My trustee was a local bankruptcy attorney that advertises WAY too much and my neighboorhood, and he kida looks like skeletor.

Anyways he was particullary found of me since I filed bankruptcy ProSe(By Myself) I had a few tiny problems and he wouldnt be specific on how to fix these problems and am hoping someone can help me and tell me what I have to do

#1 I had lost my wallet a few months ago it had my social security card and everything in it. I went to the SSA builing and filed a replacement card application. I had told the lady at the counter I have a meeting coming up where I need to show proof of my social. She told me " This reciept is all you need to show" I did and the trustee rejected it. I have to get him something with my social

#2 I was told before the 341 meeting that I needed to drop off paperwork to his office. I needed to drop off my bank statements, Paystubs, Income Tax Returns. (SEE MORE BELOW)

Can the sitting U.S. President pardon anyone he wants?

I mean, theoretically, can he pardon any criminal? What about a mass murder? Or someone convicted of treason?

Of course, these things would never, ever happen. But in theory, can the President pardon anyone he wants at anytime?

This has been bugging me for a long time.

I came across a 360 page of someone
who's also into tickling women.

Problem is,
the first few posts of his blog
included details
of what is clearly abuse.

It may not be sexual to him,
but it is pretty much considered sexual abuse.

He talked about how he got
into tickling as a kid...
but the problem is,
it included stories
one of which is about when he
was a camp counsellor,
he and his friends tied up
a teenage girl in the woods and tickled
her for quite sometime.

Now maybe it's true,
and maybe it isn't.

He says it is.
And if so, it's sexual abuse.

I can't imagine how traumatised she must've been.

Anyway, how do I go about reporting
him to the relevant authorities?
I'm from a different country,
so I'm not familiar with the procedure
when it comes to his country.

Any help would be much appreciated.

This is the address of his page :

Seems like there is a ton of "preferential" justice being passed around if you are famous.

Scooter Libby has not been given a pardon, but it is in the air.

Regardless of political affiliation, what is your opinion on Libby's crime and the possibility of him being pardoned?

Would you and I be given as flimsy of a sentence as he has for pugery?

All these questions along the lines of "how can people support abortion and be against the death penalty/Iraq Wart/etc.?" are really annoying and miss the pro-choice point entirely.

The pro-choice point of view is that a fetus is not a person. A fetus lives off the resources of the mother and is more like a parasite than a person. Once it reaches approximately the 3rd trimester, the fetus could potentially live outside the womb and seems to develop a "consciousness", therefore most people agree that 3rd trimester abortions should be illegal.

Equating fetuses with people doesn't apply to this argument. Why is it so hard for pro-lifers to understand that pro-choicers don't consider fetuses to be people?

I'm kinda in dis belif of what happened this morning

His 7th phone call at 2:35 am woke me up this morning from a boy I was with a week ago and he said he was in the neighborhood and wanted to see me. I was really happy and though it would be fun to get a kiss and say hi (i'm 19) and went outside to see him

Everything was fine we talked he was a bit drunk, we kissed and he got excited immeditly. I said goodnight and tryed walking back and he grabbed both my wrists and tryed so start forcing me to do sexual things toward him saying he wanted to play. I fought him off me while pulling him to his car, then went inside and locked the doors. he continued to call(didn't answer) and leave scary txts like (now I have to finish myself at home).

I know he was drunk and I know more that what he did was Wrong! I'm happy i knew to fight him but what do I do now?

do I tell someone?
Should i just stay away from him?
I don't want to call the cops but is it better if i do?

In a word, malfeasance.

Your health care dollars are not being lost to any significant degree to "frivilous lawsuits." That is a lie intended to stear you away from the truth, that American medicine is corrupt to its very core. No politician has been willing to expose what all of them must know: The problem cannot be solved by installing a new health care regime over the top of a system infected by fraud and incompetence. Here are the facts:

Shocking statistical evidence is cited by Gary Null PhD, Caroly Dean MD ND, Martin Feldman MD, Debora Rasio MD and Dorothy Smith PhD in their recent paper Death by Medicine - October 2003, released by the Nutrition Institute of America.

"A definitive review and close reading of medical peer-review journals, and government health statistics shows that American medicine frequently causes more harm than good. The number of people having in-hospital, adverse drug reactions (ADR) to prescribed medicine is 2.2 million. Dr. Richard Besser, of

A very simple question, which has not been asked before.

But I'm asking a sincere question.

How far would it reach? What would it do that present law does not? and how would it be interpreted?

I'm interested in your thoughts. Thanks!

I have read here that men should not interfere in women's health decisions. I may even agree. But just to stir the pot, why do people think male circumcision is not frowned upon, as female circumcision is?

I have no problem with the difference. Basically, it's because men and women are not identical, and no amount of legislation will make them so. They are legally equal, but not physically interchangeable. Therefore the procedures are different, although the term "female circumcision" covers several procedures.

But it's interesting to me that just like abortion is subject to some regulation although (as one poster mentioned) vascectomies are not, female circumcision is treated differently from male circumcision.

What do you know? Men and women ARE different!

I hope we can discuss this somewhat maturely. Thanks.

I had a very wealthy boyfriend who lived in a different state. I am in Florida. He set up a bank account with both our names on it and gave me a book of blank, signed checks in case I needed money. He wired 82k into my account, then 42k, then 8k, then 5k. I never used the bank account but I did use a bunch of checks. He told me he loved me and wanted to take care of me. I had a good job when we met but I lost it due to his constant phone calls to my place of employment because he was insecure. He decided to get into real estate and told me he would give me 55k each year (to cover the salary I lost) if I would help him find the houses and get them fixed up for sale. (the 82k wire was to 1 1/2 year of money I lost from my job) He then wanted me to put one of the houses in my name. He wired me the 42k to buy the house I chose. The realtor told me to get a GIFT letter that stated that all the money he has given to me prior to and including the 42k was a gift with no intention of repayment.

My payment is past due 2 wks today and I wanted to get an extenstion on payment for 1 day because I get paid on Fridays (today's Thurs). The customer service rep told me she needed a payment today before 7pm in order to not disconnect. I mean, it's not like it's even a month overdue. My boyfriend swears up and down that it's illegal for the electric complany (SRP) to disconnect the electricity in the summertime here because the temperatures are so hot you could die without air. I want to know if that's true. Not that I would ever try and push my luck, I just want to know from someone who knows for sure or if it's just a rumor. Thanks.

It is in Canada, but I would imagine their legal system isn't that different from the US. What do you all think about this? I guess the judge thought that if he went to jail, he would for sure be someone's girlfriend. And do you think that alternative sentences like this one could do more harm or more good?

Jack K. didnt spend much time in jail. Did he get off so lightly because he is a medical doctor. Or could this be used as an argument for a future case that might involve someone(not a doctor) who goes around assisting people who want to die?
