As adults they should have the God given right to self-preservation.
Gun Control only affects the law abiding. Criminals and crazy people don't care about the law.
Those that carry have gone through a background check (which is an invasion of privacy) and training (which is a good thing) and surprisingly actually have more practice time shooting than some police officers. Some states only require two qualifying shoots a year. Most citizens that carry shoot at least a month.
It takes the police in Los Angeles an average of 15 minutes to respond. A person can bleed out in thirty seconds. By the time the police responded at Virgina Tech they were there in time to investigate what occurred.
Colleges aren't efficient at disseminating information. The college I attended did everything they could to cover up crime on campus.
SCOTUS has twenty different decisions that declare the police don't have a responsibility to respond to a call.

Absolutely! As long as they are legally allowed to own and carry (concealed weapons permit) the weapon.
1) We have the right to bear arms
2) Self - Defense, the people you need to defend yourself from will carry a gun whether they are "allowed" to or not, those that have a concealed weapons permit but aren't allowed to have a gun on campus know that they won't carry where not allowed
3) Defense of Others - if you witness a crime where someone else is in danger you should be able to come to their rescue, the same as anywhere else - aren't college campuses known for their number of rapes? I know if that was me I would want someone to have a gun that could save me.

No 1) i believe in gun control
2) Guns don't kill people, people do
3) carrying a gun at anytime incourages people to use them.
Just a short note about guns being in schools not just colleges. My daughter is 14 and just finishing up grade 8. A note was send home today from the school. A boy had found an pellet gun and brought it to school, showed it to another boy who went and told a teacher and three teacher took the pellet gun away and called the police. Imagine what could have happened. It scared me when I got the note because if not for the teachers it could have been so much worse. Guns do not belong in schools, if people didn't bring guns to school then all those innocent children that have been killed since Columbine would still be alive.

Yes
1. Self defense. The nut jobs that shoot up campuses would never get a chance to reload.
2. The second amendment. It is our constitutional right.
3. Not allowing people to carry a handgun only keeps law abiding citizens from having a gun.
Do you know what you call a unarmed citizen? Victim.
If the teachers at Columbine were armed, it would have saved lives.

No.
1. Some people are not stable enough and the smallest thing could make them angry.
2. Why would we need to? It is supposed to be the local police and the campus police jobs to keep the students safe. Granted they have a long ways to go but I trust their judgement more then my hungover pot smoking classmates.
3. Some college students are not responisble enough.

if they legally obtain them, sure why not. If a student is going to shoot up a school, hes going to bring the gun to school regardless of if there is an "anti-gun" law on campus. There was an anti-gun law at Virginia tech.. did that stop him from killing dozens of ppl? No
But if other students/teachers had one, he could have been stopped.. hmmmm

Of course no, the last thing we need it's another unstable and immature kid carrying a deadly weapon next to innocent kids.
Better to hire professional armed security, well trained on gun safety and only after a very strict background check.
