My mother and I share one car.
Yesterday she dropped me off at work, then brought the car into the shop, with out asking me.
The cars brakes have been acting up. So thats why she did that.
Anyways the mechnaic fixed the car and is now asking for 600$ down, or else he holds onto the car till I, or she comes up with the money.
I attempted to write him a posted cheak he won't take it.
So now i have to wait till tues for money to come in the mail. Yet I have to get to work every day till tuesday, or else I will be fired.
If I am fired then I can't move. My new land lady said I need to have my money in addition with my mothers to move.
We just sold are trailer, and my mother spent all the other money besides 20$ on bills, and food.
How can I get to work.

The S.Ct. came very close to eliminating affirmative action today. Kennedy (the new O'Connor) came out in favor of racial discrimination to achieve "diversity" in schools - otherwise, AA would have been toast. We're one justice away from restoring the idea that the Constitution prohibits racial discrimination in favor of ANY race.

I left my wash bucket that I planned on using to wash my new car, my car wax, tire cleaner and things of that sort in the trunk of the old car. I didn't realize this until 2 weeks after I sold the car to him. He has never mentioned that I left those things in the car, and my guess would be that he intends to keep them for himself and I suffer the loss. Legally, are those things still mine or do they become his since the car is now signed over to him? If he plays dumb and says he doesn't have them (I'm 100% sure I left them in the car) can I use my spare key and go in the trunk while he's parked at work and get my stuff out? Should I let it go and suffer the loss?

I am concerned about all the media attention surrounding the disbarring of DA Nifong in the Duke Lacrosse Team rape case. From all the articles I have been reading, there have actually been many accounts of misconduct by Duke students other than this case. It doesn't surprise me that as a DA, whether the rape account was accurate or not, that he would try the case to the fullest extent. There also appears to be other witnesses after the alleged event that noted behaviorism that could conclude that the rape indeed took place.
What is worriesome to me is the fact that the DA who tried the case is being made a public example. Whether the young woman suffered the traumatic event, or was money hungry and lied about the event, the idea that the DA is being made an example is peculiar. Does anyone else feel that this might be a scare tactic from an agenda to scare off prosecutors from taking on cases where a black woman has been raped?

According to this site, abortions in general have decreased significantly BUT the ages at which the average girl getting an abortion is is much lower... in one state it jumps from the average age of 28 in 1988 to age 14 in 1996. Other states jumped from 25 & 26 to 16. What in the world is going on? Are parents of a new opinion "we don't have to tell our girl about protection, we'll just get her an abortion"?

Someone I know lost a lawsuit to a small corporation and I believe that person now owes them around $10,000. If the corporation, which is legal entity, goes out of business (essentially dying) does that individual still owe the money to the nonexistent business? It would be like owing money to a dead person without any relatives... Well founded arguments and factual answers only please

Putin, Chavez, and other socialists adopt the same measures. Last I check we are still a democratic nation, let's try and keep it that way. I am open to any talk radio (liberal/moderate/conservative) on the dial, I don't need the government tell me what to listen to.

With so much corruption and scandal it becomes clearer to me that we as a nation must begin to use the constitution and take back our government. The criminals we have in place (current administration) have shown me that this is completely necessary. Until the people can rise up and begin to be more involved and hold the government directly accountable for EVERYTHING we will not be able to accomplish anything.
