a guest staying at a motel? I work at the front desk of a motel and the police came in asking the room number of a guest staying here. I felt weird just telling them -as we are not allowed to give that info out to the general public. Should I have required they produce a warrant? Did I comprimise the guests privacy by giving the room number to the police? Does anyone know what the proper procedure and/or laws are concerning a situation of this nature?

I used to trust and believe in Freedom of Speech on the Media.
But now, I have many doubts about the first amendment.

It is petty sad that the Anti-Mexican propaganda machine are not able to debate in a civilized way with us.
Pretty sad!

My best Friends " El Charrokanroll, Soy Mexicano, IvaNN, Sayeed Reza, Omar, and El Topo, ...were banned...

OK you won, liberal-Reps-antis!
We give up!

We decided to give up about politics...
We are going to start playing and creating music, instead... we enjoy more that, than politics.
Go ahead antis!... Deport all undocumented immigrants if that make you happy.
Your agenda is retograde anyway! But,
We don't care anymore! We surrender!

But the Messaiah will return ... to liberate their people...and you won't be able tu defeat him/her.... Our Nation is sacred!

If a couple are married with say, 3 kids. The mother is a stay at home mom and the dad works and is the sole provider. Say the dad committed suicide and the mother is widowed. Since she was not working, she can't afford the apartment they were renting. Are their laws saying she can't break the lease to move back home with her folks, or is she still obligated to fulfil the lease, even though she is not working?

A student council advisor in illinois has recently dismissed without explanation. The advisor has been active on local to national levels of student council for the past 17 years and has never had any problems with her record. She is well reputable and admired by all who know her within the organization. I was wondering if this is within laws of Illinois school codes? Or sites I could look at to give me more information on the general subject? and any ideas you may have as to fighting this other than petition?
Please help, justice needs to be served here...
we are pretty sure we know the reason but the accusations of the board are completely untrue...and yes she is a teacher also
Thanks,

I am looking for information regarding the associated timelines and rights of an individual making a request to a homeowner's association. In this case, the owner of a mobile home in a mobile home park made a request to rent the property to potential tenants as opposed to selling the property outright due to the current state of the real estate market. A request for consideration was made more than 30 days ago with no reply on the part of the homeowner's association.

Ok. My boyfriend and his wife have beel separated since August 06. They have not filed divorce papers as of yet due to finances. She had a child Sunday for a guy she was seeing which caused the break up of their marriage. Now this other guy is not around and did not sign paternity papers at the hospital.
She stated that she listed my boyfriend as the father of the child and he will be placed on the birth certificate. When I had my son, his father could not be on the birth certificate because he was not present to sign.
So...if my boyfriend did not sign for paternity of this child, could she have listed him anyway? They have both sworn to me previously that this is not his child, and there was no way it could possibly be. So we are willing to do DNA testing....just needing some advice. Could she do that? I know she can't file for support without testing him.

Okay I fully support the smoking ban but this is just ridiculous and discrimination!! don't you think?
Cleveland Clinic bans hiring of smokers
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Clinic, which has targeted fatty foods at its lunch counters and scooted smokers away from its buildings and sidewalks, now will ban the hiring of anyone who smokes.
The move is part of a healthy work force initiative that included the appointment Thursday of Dr. Michael Roizen, author of a series of best-selling books on making healthy lifestyles, as the first chief wellness officer of the research hospital.

Beginning Sept. 1, Ohio’s second-biggest employer with 36,300 employees will no longer hire smokers. The policy will not affect current employees, who can get free stop-smoking help from the clinic. Prospective employees will be tested for tobacco use along with drugs.

In the grand scheme of things, does the Bush presidential team have the constitutional right to cite executive privilege in response of a subpeona from the Legislative branch?

This is not a question posed to inspire political infighting; more a response to an answer I heard on "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" from expert Johnathon Turley. According to Turley, the executive branch is unlawfully interpreting the executive clause of the constitution. By attempting to use legal measures to delay any accountability, the executive branch may be pursuing illegal activities. The show transcripts haven't been published yet, so I can't reference Turley's comments, but I'm not quite sure how the Bush team is breaking the law.

Thanks for your input!

My son just turned 2. His father and I have set up our own payment arrangements for child support without having to go through the court system. He only makes $8 an hour, I don't make much more, he pays me $200 a month and a lot of people are saying that's not enough. I am really struggling with my bills and want to ask him for $50 more a month. He is already paying me too much?
