Well judging by the amount of violation notices I get for calling Old Tone a wan*er, I say it's because he's too busy on yahoo answers

At the time it appeared that the only thing deterring the police from moving in was the constitutional crisis which it would cause. Now that there is no danger of that, someone had better come up with a very good excuse for not interviewing him under caution. Or has he acquired diplomatic immunity overnight? When did they say this new job was starting?

How many skeletons are there in his cubbard? And who's names would come out if a full investigation were to be re-opened? And then you have to ask in who's interest it'll be? We would have to live in a democratic world to be able to answer your question - at the moment we live in a dictatorial world which gets worse every day.

probably for the same reason that no police officers have been charged for numerous wrongful deaths, people in power are able to worm their way or buy their way out of trouble
