I am from India. Here those who have completed 18 years can appear for a driving test for obtaining a valid driving licence. This age restriction is here for the last many years

Not in Michigan! Driving ages are only decided by each state not by the nation. If they do "up" the driving age then that means a lot of teens would be getting on their parents nerves because they need to go somewhere. It would be stupid for the driving age to be "upped" to 18 because how are 16 year olds supposed to get to work when their parents are working and they have no other way of getting to work.
For those people saying that the driving age should be "upped" to 18 must not have kids, therefore until u do keep your thoughts to yourself. I think that if the driving age is "upped" to 18 I'll just call people like you to drive me wherever i need to go. In all reality you people wouldn't be able to say know because you obviously want 16 and 17 year olds off the roads even though people in their mid 60's and even younger can't drive themselves. I know 16 and 17 year olds who can drive better than people in there 50's and older

currently, it is at the discretion of the state you live in. The born after 1990 rule was proposed several years ago, some states went with it...

They have talked of a federal mandate for years, but nothing has been approved yet. I really doubt it will be, simply because of the problems it would cause for the 17 year olds. Most kids graduate H.S. at 17 and get a job or go to college. Either way, it is difficult to get out on your own when you don't have a license.

My opinion is put more restrictions on it (No passengers for the first year that aren't 5 year licensed drivers; if they are under 18). And I vote we raise the draft age to 21, or just be rid of it... but no one listens to me.

Where? That's decided on a state by state basis (Louisiana used to be 15 when everyone else was 16 for example).
