Is it robbery or theft? The woman is pressing charges against her and has 8-10 witnesses that say they are willing to say that she did it. She is going to have a jury trial and faces 4-13 years. Apparently my mom and this woman were having drinks at a bar and everyone was drunk. My mom had just met this woman that night because she just moved to a new town. The woman says my mom took her purse into the bathroom and stole 35 dollars and then just left her purse in the stall. My mom of course says she didn't do it, she had her own money and took her own purse to the bathroom. Afew days later a cop showed up at my mom's job questioning her about taking the money. A week after this she was arrested and takin to jail as she was walking to her car after work. She was bailed out and is awaiting trial. What do you think about all of this? Why would the police confront her and then go back and arrest her a week later? What kind of crime is this robbery or theft?

By the way thanks for your help.

Seems our Government feels the average person is unable to decide for themselves. First there was a ban on pesticides, then the old light bulbs and now some brainchild wants to ban toilets that use too much water. While I go along with the removal of all of the above, instead of passing a law banning everything, why not simply take these items off the shelf. If the public cannot buy something, they will purchase a newer type. Makes too much sense I guess. I notice no one has suggested banning V8 motors. I can't buy a light bulb, spray my lawn or flush a toilet but I can buy a monster SUV and pollute the air along with thousands of other drivers. It's all about grand standing, getting votes and having rich people tell us how to save the planet.

The Iraq War like the Vietnam War has been an opportunity to learn by experience, but the American people obviously did not learn the many lessions during or after Vietnam. Are we going to learn anything about war this time? Or are we going to attack some other Country in the next decade and blow another trillon dollars, thousands of our youth and sap our confidence to the bone again.
The question then becomes, how many times can we lose a trillion dollars and still be a whealthy Country? However maybe it is just better to loss some or all of our wealth if we can not learn how to us it for peace and progress.

If you were given the chance to make up three new laws-preferably in the UK, then what would they be. Also they have to be sensible-and benefit all, not just yourself. Thanks!

I have this problem with a neighbour who lives upstairs from me. He has one of these small ultrasonic/ high frequency sonic devices which puts out a powerful beam of sound. He aims it into my appartment and at me when i am trying to sleep. This has been going on since i moved into this appartment a year and a half ago, and stops me sleeping all night every night (he lets me get a few hours sleep in the afternoon), but this is not the main problem.

The main problem is that while i am lying down, he is now aiming it at my neck, with it turned up to the most powerful setting. This causes my body to be totally paralysed from the neck down, and when he does this while i am conscious, it seems to go on for about 10 or 15 seconds. He has also done this since i moved in, but now is starting to do this more often, maybe 2 or 3 times a day.
