This man has been impressing me by not following the Bush clan and it's side show fueled by oil, but I was sort of dissapointed by some things he said at the debate the other day. What are you opinions on this man. Is he genuine or another corrupt official in sheeps clothing?

Please read an earlier post for xtra info "What is the point in contesting this divorce?" I can't afford to be married to him anymore. My husband is an attorney and works in court as a law clerk for a judge. He is well respected by all, BUT if these people only knew. With late fees, from cash advances every month on high interest rate c/c, 70 bounced check fees in 3 yrs, all written by him. taking a job w/a 30K yr. paycut, borrowing from the 401 to pay off c/c debt, and not paying them off. Refusing our councelors offer to work w/him on r finances, he tells her no, not until I fix the marriage. I have always wanted to sit 2gether 2do them. Now he's telling my 19yr. old he can't help him w/com college bcuz, I filed for this divorce. Yet last yr my son had to pay $1900 frm his sav acct 2grad. high school. he is telling r kids and his family that I have caused this debt. How can I be protected from this

I'm hoping someone with knowledge of law can help me out. I have a teacher in my online college writing class who just gave me a warning for being "rude" to another student. What I did was I wrote a letter answering a students critique of one of my pieces (an extremely ignorant and arbitrary one.) with something along the lines of “well that’s your problem not mine." And then I get this warning letter, so what I'm wondering is: Don't I have free speech in college to say whatever I want? I mean it's not like I wrote profanity, but I may have written some bitter words. Anybody know what the limits of free speech in college are? Thanks

we needed our facias and soffits replacing. The first company to give us a quote was Anglian Windows. It was the usual scenario of pressure to sign immediately to take advantage of the special promotional offer and having your house used as a show house. We signed a contract for the work to be carried out at an agreed price and gave a deposit. 6 weeks later we were informed that before for any work could start there would need to be substantial price increases even though we had signed a contract and given a deposit. Does anyone else have similar experience of Anglian Windows not honouring their contract or behaving in a disreputable way?

I worked for Walmart--and was fired for doing a return and then also doing an override in the computer--without checking it with anyone else. I was told on the night i was fired that I could be rehired in 30 days--and was. I had to take a different --lower position because they didn't have any open positions of my previous job. Now I am stuck and cant' be promoted until a write up in my file is inactive.--which takes a year. because I have an active write-up in the computer from my previous position. I don't know what they put in my file as far as the reason I was officially fired. Is there anything I can do to get my old position back before the year is up? I lost almost $2 an hour because of this.

I am living in Pune in a Row House society. The society fees are the same for all the houses, though every house has different square footage when it comes to garden, parking and the carpet area. The fees include the maintenance of exteriors of the house, garden and parking. I am of the opinion that the fees should be based on the square footage. But I keep getting an answer that the law doesn't say so. Can someone help me understand what is this law and where can I get details about the law.
Thanks

I need help with one of my legal classes. We are studying a case where the defendant runs a red light therefore causing the plantiff substantial injury and medical cost. General damages are in excess of 100,000 , special damages in excess of 75,000, plantiff has some permanent dissability, plantiff might not be able to perform in current occupation or in near future, diversity of citizenship jurisdiction is also an issue. How would I place all this information into facts, issues, rule, analysis, conclusion.

i understand that your freedom only extends as far as it doesn't encroach on another's freedom, but why the laws against drug use and euthenasia? either we do no trust our fellow citizens to be free, or maybe we're not the freedom loving country we claim to be. is freedom not a birthright?

Why are some people "more equal" than others in the eyes of many of our legislators? The hate crimes legislation being considered offers a higher level of protection from crime to some of us, but not all. Doesn't this violate equal protection? If not, why not.

that making it disappear/War on Drugs is pure bureaucratic fantasy?

Why isn't legalization a viable choice? Take out the 'criminal' element, tax it, whatever.

Just seems like an excuse to throw good people in jail.

Put aside reefer madness notions of drug dealers and users. There are good and bad people everywhere.

My brother-in-law "Harry" was charged with a felony on April 3rd. He has not seen a lawyer once although one was appointed to him. I spoke with his lawyer today and he tried to tell me that he hadn't even been assigned to Harry and evaded my questions. This was a flat-out lie. He has been telling other lawyers and the judge that he intends to go see Harry but tells me the opposite. I heard that after 45 days if Harry does not see a lawyer his case will be dismissed. He has not been sentenced yet. The only way Harry can get in to be sentenced is if his lawyer makes an appointment to have him arraigned first, which obviously is not going to happen since this guy is a lazy scumbag. If Harry continues to sit in jail can this whole thing be thrown out the window? He was given 30 days' jail time and it has been 31 days and he hasn't heard anything from anybody. Thank you!

I have been renting a guest cottage for 8 years. The landlord told me 5 years ago that he was going to displace me when he finished redoing the garage and he finally finished. He & his pregnant wife came to me in February and said they would be moving into my house in June and they had to pay a relocation fee of 3300. In March he told me that July 1st would be the move-out date. I like them and love the house.

In April the LA City Council changed the relocation fee to 9040! I called the office and they said there was no 60day notice on file so technically the landlord hasn't notified me, and when he files they'll set the rate at 9040. My landlord said he's expecting to pay me 3300 since they told me in February, and they're just being nice by letting me stay until July. He said the 9040 would break his bank and disrupt all of his plans. He offered me an extra 300.
I don't want to leave, and I want that 9040, but I feel guilty dinging them on a technicality. What should I do?

A woman that we've never seen before is suing us. Apparently, she fell on the street and claims it was because we put boxes of our merchandise on display on the sidewalk. We have never, EVER put anything on the sidewalk, and the ambulance records show that she fell 5 stores away from us. She lost her case, so now she's appealing it. This time, she changed her story and she's claiming to have fallen INSIDE our store, but supposedly, none of us remember seeing it. What is she going to say, that all 4 of us were in the bathroom at the same time?!? She wants us to pay her $450,000. I want to know how the heck this case, and then the appeal, got through!

What about if you had lived in the South 50 years ago under the Jim Crow Laws, would you guys have properly upheld the laws to oppress the Negroes?
