I opened a cell phone account in my ex's name, the account was always paid. He is now threatening to press charges against me if my parents do not pay him money he feels he is owed. How long can he hold this over my head? He is blackmailing me to do whatever he says when it comes to our child and is talking bad about me to our child. He claims he is doing this for my own good and our child is the only reason he is not putting me in jail. Do I have any rights or should I continue to do whatever he says because he holds all the cards right now or should I contact an attorney?

I own an auto repair shop and did work for person A who in the meantime sold the car to person B. Person A is my customer and brought the car back for posible warranty work. The original job was checked and all was well but the car now had a new problem. Person A(my customer) refused to do more work on the car. Person B now wants to sue me for not fixing the car. I believe person B has a buyers contract with person A and should sue him, not me. I cannot do work if my customer declines it. What do you think?

Recently, my ex-husband passed away, owing around $6,000 in child support. Last year, to help pay on the arrearage at that point, I received his income tax return. I should have received it again this year. However, his widow filed his return and received his return.

Is this right? Is there anything that can be done?

Judge Roy Pearson Jr. is suing a Dry Cleaning store that had lost his pants. He says he has to rent a car on the weekends to go to another dry cleaners. Washington consumer protection law has fines of $1,500 per violation, per day and Pearson is using that against the 3 defendants. Also says fraud occured because signs were posted saying "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Same Day Service."

What do you think?
What should be done?
How do we prevent this in the future?

We bought a treadmill that weighs hundreds of pounds and took quite a bit of effort to assemble and carry upstairs. On the second day, it broke. I took it apart and narrowed it down to a bad circuit board. To exchange it, I have to undo all my work and start over. Warranty work asks for it to be shipped, same problem, only worse. Is it ethical for me to buy another, identical item, swap the broken board for the new one, and return the second treadmill without assembling it and just get my money back after telling the store it was broken out of the box. I can get to the part without so much as taking the box out of my truck, and I can get a store employee to help me get it in and out of my truck.

Since the Bush administration is apparently very good at spinning the truth to conform with whatever agenda they wish to promote, and given that they have been caught time and time again making misstatements and inaccurate distortions of the facts so they can reach their objectives, what credibility do they deserve that the common people should believe them? And if 'the ends justify the means' is the administration's motto, then should they be upset when less and less people want to support them?

We were married for 16 years. We built a new home in 97 and have other property as well. He is from a wealthy family and has two other places to choose from to live other than our home that belong to us as well. When I left I had to be escorted away as his father was walking around our home with a gun. I left with my children and my dog and had to start over from scratch. It's been very hard but peaceful 2 years. All that I've ask for in the divorce is one half of the property that we lived on and my personal things. His dad"the one with the guns" passed away and my husband is a quarter of a million dollars wealthier. I want this over with, my girls deserve a home close to what they had to leave. They never complain though it's been so hard. We've discovered how much you can live without and find happiness .My daughters are 7&12 and have been through more than a lot of adults but we did make it out alive and making this statement I realize how lucky I am. I need the system to work!
