How come other countries that have strict gun laws have very few murders?
It is not so simple as carrying guns increases crimes. If people used common sense, then everyone could be armed with few murders. But, you have to know that there are many people who cannot control themselves when presented with a conflict. Then, there is the question of small sample size and the fact that only home owners must have a gun not everyone in Kennesaw, GA.

Because carrying guns doesn't increase crime-- criminals carrying guns increase crime.
Criminals aren't going to go to Kennesaw because they know they'll be shot if they try to rob, rape or murder.
That's why they go to Chicago or Washington DC-- places where law-abiding citizens are not allowed to carry guns to protect themselves.
Perdendo-- I live in a small town, 7,000, in a blue state. There are murders every few years, all by guns. I know of no surrouding town that's gone without a murder in 25 years, and I live in a pretty safe area and state. So, you are the one with the logical fallacy, not the poster.
Phoenix-- St. Louis does not have high rates of concealed carry, it's a very Democratic city in a Republican state. It's also not the most dangerous city in America-- the author of the study said that the study is flawed and cannot be taken seriously. Other cities with more crime didn't report their stats (Chicago, New Orleans, and others) and many report their stats in different ways than St. Louis does. St. Louis is safe and if you've ever been there you'd know that.

Because they're looking at overall murder rates for the whole country, not just Kennesaw, GA. Don't worry though, the Kennesaw average affected the state average, which did in a slight way, affect the national average.

The Author Dr.John Lott has written the book "More Guns Less Crime".
He was a fervent anti-gun supporter and he was doing research to prove that more guns led to more crime. To his surprise he found out the opposite was true.
He currently is on the talk show curcuit and is now a pro-gun supporter.

I carry when I am in Virginia and Arizona, because I can. I see lots of folks carrying also. I feell much safer in those places than in my own neighborhood and it is a quiet a \nd safe area.
Guns do not kill people..Maniacs do. All Americans should have the right to carry and personal safety and peace of mind.

Owning guns doesn't create crime. Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Guns are a double edge sword. They can be used for defense, and they can be used to commit crimes.
When they did the gun ban in Australia, crime rose 300%!!! People believe that gun bans and gun control prevent possible criminals from showing up and using them to kill people. Getting rid of guns from the loving, caring people of this country is setting us up for a takeover.
Hate to use it, but during the VTech shooting, police were waiting outside for 2hrs in full body arm and sub-machine guns. WTF, why weren't they in there trying to stop the madman? Why wouldn't they have the guts to risk their lives to save others? They outnumbered him, out gunned him, yet were scared like little children when facing danger. I thought they took an oath to protect and serve, not to coward and hide. Your own government will not protect you, yet you'll be willing to lay down your own weapons for peace. Our founding fathers didn't do that when faced against the British. And they stated it in the 2nd Amendment too. It's not a privilege, it's a RIGHT!!!

If banning guns INCREASES crime, then why hasn't there been a murder in [insert any small city in a blue state] for over 25 years?
(Or better, yet, if banning guns increases crime, why is the murder rate in blue states consistenly lower than the murder rate in red states?)
(Do you see the logical fallacy?)

Yeah, St. Louis has a pretty high rate of gun ownership and it's the most dangerous, crime ridden city in the country.
Now what was your correlation again?
