Only if you agree to it. I think that if they sack you for not working for another company it could be construed as unfair dismissal especially if your working conditions, locations, pay and the reason you took the job in the first place were made worse.

Your contract is with the company that you decided to work for and you have legal rights which the company has to respect. They cannot farm you out like a bit of machinery. If you wanted to work for another company, you would have applied for a job with them.

If you mean SELL YOUR SERVICES without your concent? No.

If you mean that as when one company sells out to another and the new company retains the same employees...I would think you'd be glad to still have a job!

If you mean 'Transfer of Undertakings' then YES..
go to the dti.gov.uk site and look up the laws on TUPE.
Its a grey area ..but it is legal.
