well... i don't think one person not buying gas on May 15th would make a difference, but if America all committed to it, and didn't buy gas i think we could show the big oil companies that we mean business, it's bullsh!@T that they make us pay this much. I'm tired of it.

Sit back for a minute, take a deep breath and think it through. You fill up your tank on the 14th. You don't buy gas on the 15th. You fill your tank again on the 16th. What has the oil company lost? Nothing! You have still purchased the same amount of gas, just shifted the days. All you have done is damage the retailers who make their money on what you buy inside the station and who often sell the gas at a loss.

The only ways to get the attention of the oil companies is to stop using their product or to institute government controls. Neither of these is going to happen in the short run.

Of course I am, why wouldn't you? Boycotting a gas station is a stupid and ignorant attempt to drop the oil market and it will NEVER happen. You can whine all you want but the fact remains that the high cost of fuel is a supply and demand issue. We are using more oil now than ever before, stop driving your cars, or let us drill of the coast and in ANWR! by Boycotting the station all you are doing is hurting the business of that stations owner NOT the oil company. You want to boycott something do it to the Federal Government and the State government, as the oil company is about 9 cents a gallon in profits for a gallon and the rest is made up in Fed and state taxes, as well as additives for our designer gas (thanks environmentalist)!

Not getting gas on one day is not going to accomplish anything unless people also agree to drive less. If they just get gas the day before or the day after the same amount of gas is sold, and the oil companies don't lose one cent. People have to drive less and use less gas overall for any impact to happen.

If I need gas, yeppers, I'll go and buy it. Although I really don't understand the purpose of people not buying gas for one day.....because all the people who are boycotting that day will just have to buy their gas either a few days before or a few days after.....

If I need gasoline in my vehicle on May 15th, I will.

This supposed "boycott" of gasoline purchasing has been circulating through email for many years, and it doesn't have any effect on the price of gasoline, despite the current email's false claim that "the price of gas went down $.30 the next day."

Want to really make a difference? Use mass transit, or ride your bike.

Yes. I'll be spending my time weatherproofing my house and changing light bulbs to more effecient ones and getting a tune up so my car uses less gas all year long.
