Judge Roy Pearson Jr. is suing a Dry Cleaning store that had lost his pants. He says he has to rent a car on the weekends to go to another dry cleaners. Washington consumer protection law has fines of $1,500 per violation, per day and Pearson is using that against the 3 defendants. Also says fraud occured because signs were posted saying "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Same Day Service."

What do you think?
What should be done?
How do we prevent this in the future?

This judge should be Removed prior to his 1 day on the bench and have his law license removed for ever. And serve some community service hopefully at a dry cleaners.

Its not everywhere that our court system is out of wack but this is surely a prime 1st hand example of someone throwing his weight around where it shouldn't. This family owned shop even offered this wacko $ 3,000 to pay for his pants.

Typical of the abuse of the judicial system that has increased the cost of everything including medical costs. This one is right up there with the lady that sued McDonald's for not warning her that the coffee was hot before she spilled it on her lap.
We need to somehow reduce the benefits of law suits either with limiting the judgments or requiring a prior review for appropriateness of the suit and/or amount.

Maybe this could be the reason it takes so long for criminals to be prosecuted. . . He's going to spend more time, money and energy on this lawsuit than the pants are worth in the first place. I just wonder, why sue someone for that much money when you know they don't have it and you're never going to get it anyway. . .

it really is merely none experience. How might want to someone like him develop right into a decide? i believe a decide should be honest and mutually smart. This man or woman merely develop into mad on the purifier and wanted to play round. sixty 5 million money for a pair of pants? The decide is a silent homicide.

This should qualify as a "frivolous lawsuit." Aren't there laws prohibiting them?
