no if you put in a letter you are retiring, or if you quit. If you are old enough to apply to soc security and retire that way but were still working and got laid off then yes you could collect unemployment for so many weeks, if your intent was to get another job. Depends on the state, your age, etc. but you have to be able to work and actively looking to get it, applying to soc sec doesn't matter cause seniors do still work tho they are at the age to collect.

If you have a pension, source of income, or are collecting social security you cannot collect unemployment.

If prior to retirement you're fired, yes. But it only last for 26 weeks.

It depends on the state and the amount of retirement that you get and whether it was voluntary retirement or not.
