My husband was accused of stealing a an item by an employee from Wal-mart. He did NOT steal anything. The item in question is supposedly a Music CD. (this music cd isn't even music he listens too) I don't appreciate this.

It's not about the item or price..it's about the principle.

What would be the best way to settle this matter..as now everytime i go into wal-mart i want to have a few words with this women? what options do i have?

My debit/credit cards were stolen on 3/25/07. The thieves went on a shopping spree at nearly over 20 retail stores, gas stations, and restaurants. No one asked for ID! This is completely unacceptable. I would like sue the merchants for not protected me as a consumer, for only being concerned with their bottom line. Identity theft is on the rise and until we hold merchants responsible, it will continue to grow.

I have a case in the state of Gujarat at local district level and also at high court level, can I hire lawyers from anywhere in India to handle these cases? Do they have to be certified in some way to handle cases as district level and high court level.

I have just discovered that the district level case is one that has been corrupted at all levels. What are my options? Can I move this case out of that district's jurisdiction and into another? What proof/evidence do I need in order to do that? What is the process?

The above are serious questions and would appreciate replies from ppl who are lawyers or those who know the Indian legal system well or have been through similar situation. Thank you.

Do you know that most of the prisoners in Guantanamo were bought by the US army like animals ? It is why there are so many innocent people among them. There were bought a few thousands dollars then detained and deprived of their rights. Isn't it the definition of slavery ?

His : My Child Support is too high. Is there anything that can be done to lower it? I need to live too. I'm IN NC
Before you think of me as a deadbeat dad, please understand that I am willing to pay child support but I think the amount is unfair. I take home about $1500 a month. I pay $628 a month in rent, I was ordered by a judge to pay $444 a month for child support. Utilities is about $150 a month. Gasoline for my car is about $120 a month. I'm in NC and the way the court system figures out the CS amount is they take the income of both parents and determine the amount. The problem is, my soon to be ex wife (currently separated) can work but doesnt want to. She wants to be a stay home mom. Thats why I have to pay $444. If she was working, the order would be $320 a month. Can she just stay home? That's not in the best interest of the child!!. The laywer told me that they cant force her to wotk because the child is under 3 years old (14 mo). What am I supposed to do?

then why is part of Daivid Hicks, the australian terrorist who recently plead quilty on terrorism charges at guantanamo, to stay silent about alleged abuses. It would seem to me that if there was no abuse or eveidence to support abuse, that added phrase would not be needed.

Let's face it folks, the media is doing everything that it can to undermine the war on terror. They will print everything that they can get their grubby little hands on so long as it hurts public opinion and decreases troop morale.

In this time of war should newspapers, TV stations, and other media get a "seal of approval" for the news it reports? Should the freedom of the press be suspended for the safety of all Americans?

As in, if I were writing a work of fiction that featured an NBA game, would it be legal to use the names of the teams (not actual players) and terms relative to the league (i.e., "NBA Finals," etc.)?

Instead of being the president's lawyer, isn't he supposed to work for the American people ? This administration puts too high a premium on loyalty and not enough on duty to one's office. The same thing happened to Colin Powell.

An illiterate Hindu man died in India who had acquired quite a bit of property in his lifetime. He retired after educating all his children who live good lives abroad and are all professionals making good money. He had 4 children and a wife. He had always told his wife that when he dies she will be the owner of all his property. One of his children had witnessed this conversation. Not knowing about making a written will or the importance of it since he was illiterate, can what he said to his wife be considered an oral will and hold up in an Indian court?

His kids are now fighting to get their share of the property which would pretty much leave his wife who is sick with a chronic illness with barely anything to live on. According to the Hindu Succession Act each one is entitled to a share of the property.

The kids have not in the past or intend to in the future contribute to their mother's well being ,and are abroad so the Hindu Maintenance Act would probably not impact them.
