His : My Child Support is too high. Is there anything that can be done to lower it? I need to live too. I'm IN NC
Before you think of me as a deadbeat dad, please understand that I am willing to pay child support but I think the amount is unfair. I take home about $1500 a month. I pay $628 a month in rent, I was ordered by a judge to pay $444 a month for child support. Utilities is about $150 a month. Gasoline for my car is about $120 a month. I'm in NC and the way the court system figures out the CS amount is they take the income of both parents and determine the amount. The problem is, my soon to be ex wife (currently separated) can work but doesnt want to. She wants to be a stay home mom. Thats why I have to pay $444. If she was working, the order would be $320 a month. Can she just stay home? That's not in the best interest of the child!!. The laywer told me that they cant force her to wotk because the child is under 3 years old (14 mo). What am I supposed to do?

the facts: we moved and purchased a home in NC. We had no one but each other. In june he started a new emplyment ( recom. by my aunt) and by July he began an affair with a girl on his job. At the time my daughter was 7mnts old and I recently found out I was preg w/our 2nd child. He became angry and allowed our house to foreclose. Yes I was home with our 7mnth old but working on permits in lic 2start my own daycare so I can stay home & earn income at the same time ( being a team plyr). He did not care and force his preg wife and baby out of their home w/foreclosure. His $623 is his HALF of his mistress $1200 rent (moved in with her in Sept while we had no home). I filed in Nov. despite what he did I begged him for help in Sept and Oct. He sent $300. Preg, with an infant & my life apart finding a job was attempted but to no prevail. I am far from lazy. In fact I was his supervr w/a 6 yr tenour. He refused to help us so i got legal help and in Jan the judge mand. he pay $444+back support.

Is it my fault that when I asked for his help b4 the court sys he refused? Now he is crying for taking care of his child. Let me also add he went 2court asking his pymnt be $250 because he felt a 13mnth old did not require more. HE WAS DENIED! I just had our second child on march 18. He was not there through the entire preg not delivery. What man would rather pay less than required so he can give more to his mistress life. Again $623 his says he pay in rent is just his 1/2. Yet he want 2give his children less. By the way she is now pregnant with his 3rd child. If money was hard for him than why get another person preg? He is a sick man. He has not seen his now 15 mnth old and can care less. I recently stopped emailing him pix and her progress b/c i've come to realize it is not my job to make him a father. He is more concerned about supporting his kids than being a positive enforcement in their lives. Continue to tell him he's a dead beat and for the rest..shame on you for misguided adv

As far as me not wanting to work..is a lie. Again I just had our 2nd child less than 2wks ago. As you see, he is a heartless boy who can care less. Me being home with our babies, is in their best interest.! What is he talking about?! I will not allow a stranger to raise my kidz just to benefit him. That is what he wants just to lower his pymnt yet he is so stupid he forgot to add in child care which he would have 2 help pay for two. NO I WILL NOT GET ON WELFARE! He rather support his mistress and her child ( that is not his) than support his own flesh! He decided to stay in NC making less than 30k instead of coming back to NY making alot more, all for the sake of ***. Let me also add this woman came in my home and just moved another man out wks b4 my ex moved in. He only knew her for a mnth and 3mnths b4 getting her preg. He knew nothing about her. I found out b4 he did that this girl had a criminal rec. He refuses 2see his children bc the order states he can not have his tramp present

I no longer bother keeping him posted of his children's life because he has made it clear to me and everyone else he can care less about her and her well being. He has two BEAUTIFUL daughters it's a shame but I realize they are better off without the love he does not have for them. They are tremendously loved by my family and GOD continues to bless us.

He claims i do not want to work? Of course I will get a job when the time comes but I will not work min wage just to please him and give all my money to child care. I've been working since I was 14 yrs old with only 3 jobs under my experience. That shows I not only have no problem working but I hold onto jobs and excel with promotions. he is just upset that he has to give more money towards his children than support his adultress his her 7yr old child. Did I mention he did not see his daughter on her 1st birthday or christmas. Not even a gift, yet his bank statment in court showed he went to toysrus days b4 christmas and purchased $60 worth of toys. We all know who those gifts were for, certainly not his own child yet he complaining about supporting his children. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!

Why you would want to air your dirty laundry in a public forum is beyond me; however, the Court is going to have little or no sympathy his whining about not being able to make ends meet on what he is required to pay under the Child Support formula...they will just tell him he should consider finding a way to cut his expenses or find a 2nd job.
