If you have been subpeoned, I suggest you go! If you don't show up - the judge can issue a bench warrant for your arrest. You could be somewhere at dinner with friends and family, celebrating and they locate you and will not care about embarrassing you...I have seen it done. It is not a pretty sight. 30 minutes is not long - I know how you feel though - it's hard to avoid court. Tell you what happened to me - I had to appear in court - and before they could call my name, had an asthma attack - had to be taken out and rushed to the hospital! (that was mandatory - but at least they knew I was there!)

Drink eight glasses of water following sixteen ounce serving of cold pork and beans two hours before court hearing.
Thirty minutes before entering drink a pint of prune juice cut with three tablespoons of Castor oil.
Wait for hearing to get underway before explosively soiling yourself. Wearing light coloured trousers will help highlight
the problem. Do not bring change of attire. Act contrite.
Pull your hair with filthy hands begging for mercy. Expect a postponement. Don't smile at the shocked looks you'll get.
Try to dribble while departing.

Depends on where you live, in the county where I live, the only way for you to have an excuse is that you are dead, or in a coma in the hospital.

Many of the judges where I live have been violating the law since they have been in office. Some have been caught with all kinds of drugs in their house, or they are in bed with the lawyers.

Call the judge and tell him that you think he is a phony incompetent piece of crap. He will understand and you will not have to worry about it anymore
