One of my neighbors has very explicit porn painted on the back of his truck. I am amazed that this is legal, but I would assume that some police officer somewhere has seen it. It is really hard to miss.

I am all for free speech, but I really don't think my children or myself should be forced to view pornography. My daughters are very embarrassed and refuse to invite any of their friends over (the truck is parked on the street) because of this. His right to to view porn (although he can't see it where it is) is really interfering with my right to not view porn. Or do I not have that right?

Is there anything I can do? Who would I complain to?

I am all for the environment, but when will this end, when will the banning on things end? Am I the only one that worries about the slippery slope of outright bans on things?

At the moment rip off the people is proving a lucrative revenue generating business.

Banks, Credit Card Companies, Councils,Traffic Wardens, TV Companies, Ford, Sony, .... the list of people and organisations who are using every dishonest scam they can think of to to trick us into parting with our cash, seems endless.

Now, In 1968 The Criminal Law Act came into force when I was a copper. A section of the act said this. 'If by any deception a person obtains by deception a pecuniary advantage for himself, or another he is guilty of theft, by Criminal Deception.

So how is it, I wondered, that none of the people responsible for ripping of you and I by deception, ie. illegal bank charges, green taxes, mortage endowment policies, extended warranties, etc are never prosecuted?

Because some pratt quietly repealed the act that protected us.

Bur who?

If a defendant entered the house of the victim and tied her up, before stealing some items, would the charge be straightforward robbery? or is burglary also involved, since the defendant had entered as a tresspaser with the intent to steal?

I was just wondering about this... I was having trouble researching for the answer. Everytime I search good with the word medieval all I get back is information relating to "games" and "rpg's". I was searching for maybe a response that had to do with a Kings rulebook. If you have sources please list them.

Have a relative that has admitted to stealing between 20 to 40 thousand from his employer. He has been caught. He has been in a county jail for the last 4 months due to a crappy lawyer. He does have a new one that thinks he will be out in a week. How much time will be served when he does go to trial?

My landlore from like 3 or 4 years ago is trying to make me pay back rent, that I believe was already paid. He sent me a letter saying he had some bad checks on me + the papers I signed. He is asking for over $4000. I don't have the receipts anymore. Is this even legal in state of Tennessee?

I noticed a $1 charge to my bank account that I hadnt authorized. I called the 800 number provided to find out who the people were and all you can do it get your account number or cancel... So I got my account number and decided to try to log on to the website to see if I could figure out who they were. When I tried to log on to the website, it asked me to agree to the terms and conditions in order to get into my account. I do not agree to these and close the site out. I emailed their support and requested a call immediately since I can not reach anyone live through their phone number. They wrote me back and said that they have no phones. I write them back that I would like to know who they are since they are charging me. They wrote back an email saying I signed up through another service that I had never heard of. I called the 800 number back figuring Id take the $1 loss, but they have now sent me an email saying welcome to my new service and my account will be charged monthly

San Francisco passed a ban on PLASTIC BAGS!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070328/ap_on_re_us/plastic_bag_ban

Many communities in the U.S. are passing anti-smoking ordinances in public places.

They want to ban regular light bulbs in people's houses:
http://www.cnsnews.com/ViewNation.asp?Page=/Nation/archive/200703/NAT20070321a.html

Why? Because they may or may not cause Global Warming.

Yet the Patriot act may or may not prevent terrorism, but the Dems are FURIOUS about it!

I would rather have a wiretapped phone than no light bulbs in my house. Those fluorescent bulbs aren't worth beans. You need 3 of them to be as bright as a regular bulb.
