“judicial immunity” seems to take away basic human rights under a court case called Re East: Ex Parte Nguyen:
Seems that when the government wants to hide something they can.
Does anyone know of a court case that will over rule the one above.
I was sent a link by human rights body in Australia (http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/cases/cth/HCA/1998/73.html) that basically says that id there are other avenues then you cant take the government under civil action.

Surly if a Judge works outside his guide lines or any other government body then why are they not responsible like a doctor or trades person?

I work in a gym and i constantly receive inappropriate comments from some of the members there. Last night while i was demonstrating exercises to a new member, 2 members were making comments about my appearance and generally being quite rude. I asked them to stop and they continued. So i left the area. When they came to the desk, they apologised and said they were only joking but this is not the first time this has happened and they continue to do it. I have spoken to my boss about it before and she just says it is to be expected from men in a gym. What can i do about it? How do i get it to stop?

you know the charges you get when you go over your agreed overdraught limit or when you go into the red on your account.they normally charge you 30 quid to send you a letter to tell you.now this has turned out to be illegal and apparenly thousands of people are claiming back bank charges for the past 6 years.

last year in the apt. we use to live in I had been watched (maybe taken pictures of) by someone who i didnt know. it was about 3 times and we unsuccessfully caught him. 3 times we saw him, but not for sure at times if he was there. he would watch from my living room, room, bathroom, kitchen - i should kno bcuz he had cut part of the screen to try to get through the window. well we moved out cuz i was too scared and we moved to the farthest place, but still in the city, the one we could find very safe atleast - now we just got a letter from the dist. attorny about pressing charges against peeping tom? what can we do, can i sue him somehow?

I am Australian, and I've heard about the USA Patriot Act, and how it takes away civil rights and liberties from law abiding Americans, in an attempt to prevent terrorist activity. I've heard that people are being captured and imprisoned without trial, legal representation, or even contact with loved ones, for an indefinite period that may be the rest of the persons natural life. And I've heard that Government officers have unprecedented access to almost anything they need to follow leads in an attempt to identify and obstruct terrorist activity. What I've just heard is that the patriot act is being used to imprison people suspected of being terrorists, under the charge of treason, simply for criticising their country and/or government for enacting and enforcing these laws.

My question is, can anyone confirm or refute any of the above, using ONLY testimony of personal experience of being under these conditions, and/or via a relationship with someone who is/was there?????????????????

My boyfriend, years ago worked at two different shops in the same chain of shops. One was in a poor area, and then he filled in and eventually got transferred to the one in a rich area...same city. The difference was, in the shop on the rich side of town they would give all of their customers discount cards for cheaper rates on services that they could use each time they came in. On the poor side of town, there was no such card and everyone was charged regular price. It seems like it should be the other way around, or at least the same across the board, don't you? Why is the world like that, even in little ways like this?

My boyfriend got pulled over in a school zone and got a $300 speeding ticket, but he swears the school zone light was not flashing. He made a court date to fight the ticket, but my brother in law said it will be his word over the cops and the judge will most likely side w/ the cop. So he said that my bf should plead "no contest", as it's kind of a loop hole and if the judge is nice he'll say, "no points, pay the ticket". so my first question is: can you even plead no contest for a ticket you, yourself elected to take to court? and my second question is: wouldnt it be easier to just take the online traffic school for $20 so he doesnt get any points, and just pay the ticket? because i told him he should just cancel the court date and do it that way, but he seems to think court is better. any advice?
