I noticed a $1 charge to my bank account that I hadnt authorized. I called the 800 number provided to find out who the people were and all you can do it get your account number or cancel... So I got my account number and decided to try to log on to the website to see if I could figure out who they were. When I tried to log on to the website, it asked me to agree to the terms and conditions in order to get into my account. I do not agree to these and close the site out. I emailed their support and requested a call immediately since I can not reach anyone live through their phone number. They wrote me back and said that they have no phones. I write them back that I would like to know who they are since they are charging me. They wrote back an email saying I signed up through another service that I had never heard of. I called the 800 number back figuring Id take the $1 loss, but they have now sent me an email saying welcome to my new service and my account will be charged monthly

You are, as the saying goes, "ripe for the picking."

It sounds as if someone has indeed compromised your account at your bank and is testing the waters. It's only a matter of time before they drain your account.

CLOSE THAT ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY! I suggest that when you open up your new account that you do it at a different bank.

In the mean time, contact the BBB and the FTC and file complaints so they can take action against the scammers.

I had a similar situation with a long distance phone service. They had called my wife then 'slammed' the account with demand draft from the bank.
I had to go through the BBB and the state's Attorney General office to get it fixed. It still took over 6 months and the bstards put a ding on my credit rating for "non-payment over 120 days".

Someone has your account and the $1 charge was a test to make sure the account works. The next step is your account will be sold.

Inform your bank not to allow the charges and contest the $1 charge. The person/company that made the charge will have to show proof that you did in fact agree to it.

Something is screwy. Close the account and open a new one at another bank - not Bank of America! They cater to the Illegal aliens (sorry - I'm on my soap box).

call your bank and tell them not to allow that company to charge you anything. Then contact the BBB and FTC and file a complaint. That is about all you can do, unless you want to sue them over a dollar.
