my landlord talked me out of renting out one of his cheaper apts because the one im living in NOW has a backyard for my dogs...but my neighbor OWNS that piece of property and took down the fence to the backyard...and now i dont have a backyard...and is also taking down the stairs to get down (i live on an upper level of a bulding) so i have to go all the way around and use my neighbor directly side to me...can i sue him for anything. i heard i can sue him to find another place to move but im not sure if thats true...any info is VERY helpful. thank you!

My mom was killed by a jerk who had his second DUI, the one that killed her. On here I just saw someone who stated it was bad luck that he got his second DUI, second not first, anyone think he is a jerk besides me??

I'm in dire need. This was just bad luck. I got cited in Oakland and my court date is on April 10, 2007. What is the best way for me to proceed. If anything I want to avoid any jail time. And please, no smart remarks...i'm down, so no need to kick me further. Any help is appreciated.

I am in the process of transacting a private sale of a handgun in the state of Minnesota. My interpretation of the law is that one must be 21 years of age to buy from a dealer, but state residents legally possessing a handgun can sell that handgun to someone younger than 21, but older than 18. I want to make sure this is all legal so noone gets in trouble. Does any one have any experience with face to face gun sales?

I know copyright law is a big grey area, but I remember reading somewhere that after Warhol did his Campbell soup cans, Campbells actually tried to sue but dropped the lawsuit after all the publicity they got from his work. So because of it I read that if trademarks are used in artwork for art's sake then it's Ok. Now is this true?

I borrowed money from a friend and paid it back. We signed a promisory note, but I didn't get receipts when I paid it back. We are extremely good friends .Nothing was wrong until he passed away. His mother found the promisory note and doesn't believe that I paid it back. Can she do anything to me?

i am 13 and i have been haveing troubles with my real dad, long story... anyway he might take us to court and try to get me to legally HAVE to go with him, i'm supose to go with him every other weekend and every tues. but i haven't been. i need to know the legal age that i'll be able to tell the court that I DON'T WANT TO GO WITH MY DAD...AND THAT I WILL NOT GO... if you could help it would be greatly appricated i would also like it if only people with a good knowledge in this kind of "stuff" could answer this ?... also if you have any sources please LIST THEM, if it helps i live in the state of Oregon, PLEASE HELP!!!! I'm interested In California law, specifically if the business owner is outside and his life/business is not being threatened. I think the business owner could just stay in his store and be safe. I don't believe the business owner is allowed to shoot if the robber is physically outside the store.

I failed to obey a steady red indication and paid a fine back in Nov 05. I also took the online traffic school. I recently requested a copy of my driving record and it states "Adjudication Withheld" on Feb 06. What exactly does it mean by "Adjudication Withheld"?? My license is still valid. Please help!

Back in july of "06" my brother was living in a house with his friends well the house got broken into and my brother got beaten up pretty bad by the people who broke into the house well they called the police and when they were looking over the place apparently his friends were growing weed plants in the basement and apparently the house is within 1000 feet from a school well they didnt arrest him nor did they tell him he was being charged so afterwards he came to live with me in ohio this happened in florida well just last night his friend got pulled over in florida with him in the car and there was weed in the car no one would admit it was theirs so they all went to jail keep in mind his name was not on the lease to the house nor did he own the car he was just there welll they are charging him for these things he's only 19 years old is there anything i can do they put 25000 bond cause they thaught he was running cause he didnt know about the first court date. what can i do????

I live in CA in an apartment and I turned in my notice to vatate today. The day I turn in my keys will be March 31st. My apartment manager told me that I will still be responsible for the next 30days. That means that I am going to be all moved out March 31st and I have to pay rent till April 10th. Is there any way to get out of paying for the 10 days that I wont be living there, or am I just out of luck?? Is there a web site where I can find out more about lanlord/tenant laws??

The main character is raped.
she takes a preg. test and gets a false negative.
she doesnt take another one, and eventually sees the doctor.
by then, he tells her it is too late to get an abortion.
What week/month would she be in of her pregnancy then for that to occur?

my husband and I were kicked out of an apartment complex about three years ago, were never got an eviction notice, we were just kicked out one morning. Well though we were never sent a bill or allowed to have one from the office we were told we owed $2500. Needless to say we never got anything saying and we only found out about a year ago that we have a judgement for that same amount. We can't get into a place to live (we've been living with his parents) because of this judgement, and now that we have the money we've been told that the collecting company no longer exsists. So now what are we to do, is there ground for dismissal? Can anybody help? Who do we pay since it is a civil matter?
