If she provoked you verbally, and you responded physically, you are really in a bad situation. You committed a crime, were not acting within the bounds of self-defense, and have exposed yourself to both civil and criminal penalties. At the very least, if she takes you to small claims court, she can collect up to 5,000 dollars in most states, in medical damages, penal damages, and/or pain and suffering. I would highly suggest that you consult a lawyer as soon as possible, and don't be afraid to settle this whole matter out of court, as it will more than likely cost you a lot less money.

Well, first let me provoke you to be a little bit more descriptive on the actual situation. For legal help look up we the people in your local phone book for documentary services for free or at a discounted price. Other than that, if you don't have a lawyer as a friend or in the family then now what.... is paying bucks and lots of them to defend yourself even if its in civil.

Hi there. Sorry for your troubles. Hopefully, you will be in small claims court and not criminally prosecuted. Get your witnesses to appear with you or get avidavits. It's difficult to advise you, since I don't know what happened.Verbal provocation does not justify assault in any situation. You may need a lawyer depending on what type of court you are summoned to. Live and learn. Anger is never the answer. May things work out for both parties.

If everthing you report is true and nobody got hurt - that's life. Tit -for-tat!! Good 'ol USA - hangnail - sue the manicurist anyway!! Good grief - no wonder lawyers are busy. Aught to be a law against scurrilous law suits(if you're telling the truth) such as this.

You need to prove cause, like self-defense. She provoked you and you were defending yourself. If someone attacks you and you kill them, then that's self defense, which is legal. If a person is calling you names and you beat them up, then that's not self-defense and you can be held liable. You are not allowed to put your hands on anybody, unless they are attacking you and you are defending yourself. You may want to consider a counter suit, pain and suffering, which the other party would need to justify their actions. I suggest you speak to an attorney or your local aid society may help. Good luck.

Live and learn. You'll need a lawyer and a huge apology to the girl. You must respond in appropriate actions.

Well dear, I'm afraid I need more information to respond to this. I mean, did you physically assault her or defame her in some way? But remember this, people are sue crazy these days and there are plenty of lawyers to take on their causes, albeit, as weak as they may be.

Why would you use violence?
There are many ways for you to get even all legal and very nasty. Provocation is not reason enough, being in direct danger to your life and limb would qualify the need for violence.
If you over reacted, take your lumps and learn from it, we are all responsible for our personal actions and reactions.
Good Luck
Peace

you provoked "from" a girl? and that "lend" you to respond?
I don't know what the hell you mean, but this could be the answer.
Maybe she thought you said something, but you can't speak english properly so she misunderstood you?
A little elaboration on what you did would be helpful.
Oh well.....you're screwed.

Offer to settle out of court, you will save a bunch of money. You are in the wrong and stand very little chance of winning the lawsuit.
