This teacher has been to court and going now for another student, there are countless stories-slamming a student into a locker, breaking glasses when a student said that it hurt when he hit her in the shoulder. He continues to get away with it b/c he has tenure. This is not right and now my son is next, this needs to stop! Someone please help me, I've contacted the police and they said talk to the school so I contacted DCFS. Also when my son went to the office to call home and let me know he was having a physical altercation done to him the office would not let him call me! What are the rules for teachers and why does this one keep getting away with it?

I worked at a music store where we sold and traded cds. I apparently made a mistake about 3 months before I quit and when it happened I was confronted and nothing was ever said about taking it out of my checks, and it wasn't taken out, until the very last check they gave me they decided to take the money out of it. (It wasn't very much, about 10$, but still, that's not ethical since we talked about it and nothing was said about what they did, I was still practically training)... I am just surprised they decided to try to 'get even' somehow (I dont even know why) by burning a bridge... Just by thinking about it, it's completely unethical and I would like to know if it's legal for them to do that and also what I can do about it? (Maybe I should goto the Better Buisness Bureau? bbb.org?)

I have raised my step daughter since she was 2, now she is 8. Me and my ex wife have a son together also who is 5. I see my son everyday and I also see my step daughter during the same time. To her I am the only father she has ever had because her biologicial father hasn't been seen in over 5 years. That being said, I am pursing full custody of my biologicial son because of my ex wifes ways (long story). She will more than likely stop letting me see the step daughter because it will piss her off. Do I have any chance of visitation or anything with the step child, considering the circumstances??

In my book case in my office sits one of my prize possessions.
A hat which I had given to me signed by former NY mayor rudolph Giuliani when I met him outside the Buick Classic Golf tournament in w.chester ny.

I had a chance encounter where he was entering the contest and I was leaving and I was able to speak with him for about a minute. While he signed the hat and those of the others, I talked to him about baseball and golf and he was very down to earth, had a sense of humor and something honorable about him that I couldn't put my finger on.

I decided then, (way before he was really on the map politically as a candidate) that I needed to find out more about this man.
I was always impressed at how the city had undergone such a rebirth with him. I read his book on leadership and found that he had actually schooled himself in leadership of each department and decided on a method for creating accountability for each dept leader. Wouldn't that be a NOVEL concept at the nat'l level?

She just came here to visit and needed an Emergency Room care. I called the hospital and asked how much it would cost, explaining she is uninsured here and they said 50$. They wanted to keep her overnight and I asked again how much will be the charge, this time they said a few thousand! We asked permission to go home , without waiting for any more care. Now we got the bill 3000$ (on my address-I am the daughter) but on her name. Somebody told me they can't make me responsible for her bill , but since she has only $100 in Romania, who should pay it? We have 3 young kids , I am a stay at home mom and of course can't afford to pay anything,we hardly can pay our bills. I called Medicare,Medicaid, she is not eligible being a tourist. What can they do if my mom can't pay?

Why is it that even with all the side effects that come with various prescription drugs and alchohol, including the "addictive properties", they remain legal, yet marijuana & others, on the other hand, having side effects as well, remain illegal? Where exactly is the line drawn? It can't be that marijuana makes people stupid because alchohol does that yet it's legal...

Inthe UK,Tony Blair is a"liberal"
And of couse,wants to prove
this to "right-on" buddies in the USA.
TonyBlair is following US "liberal" Doctrine,
It is also OfficiaI Doctrine that a Gay is worth more than a Straight!.
Under the example of your glorious "liberal" doctrines.
Another fine decision was made:
If two male friends live in an apartment,
they can be given certain tax allowances or benefits.
If they were to start (how can I put this gently?
They would be classed (how shall I put this, some sort or "superior being",)and given a larger amount of Taxpayers Money.
There is of course,a bit more to this story
I have only recently been on the 'net and have praised the American several times.
when I asked a question about Blair andhis computer I was vilifiedfor my question.
and not given theslightest bit of information.
I was given a lot of "liberal" clap-trap.
SO! can we get to the "Nitty-Gritty" and see how smart these work-shy wasters of Taxpayers cash are?

Marijuana use remains consistent despite a high level of enforcement, and there is no detectable relationship between changes in enforcement and levels of marijuana use over time.
REFERENCE: J. Morgan and L. Zimmer. 1997. Marijuana Myths, Marijuana Facts: A Review of the Scientific Evidence. The Lindesmith Center: New York, 46.

Marijuana users believe that their behavior will go undetected; thus fear of arrest is usually not a factor in people's decisions whether or not to use it.
REFERENCE: Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse National Working Group on Addictions. 1998. Cannabis Control in Canada: Options Regarding Possession. Ottawa.

Marijuana laws have no "specific" deterrent impact on drug taking behavior. Studies show that marijuana offenders continue to use marijuana after their conviction at rates equal to those prior to their arrest. No relation between the actual or perceived severity of their previous sentence and subsequent use has been found.

Government studies conclude that marijuana decriminalization has had virtually no effect on either marijuana use or beliefs and related attitudes about marijuana among American young people in those states that have enacted such a policy.

Citizens who live under decriminalization laws consume marijuana at rates less than or comparable to those who live in regions where the possession of marijuana remains a criminal offense.

My bathtub has not been functioning properly. It won't drain on it's own and I informed my Landlord of this on March 9th. It still is not fixed. This is our only bathroom in the house. We had a similiar problem a few months ago with the toilet, and it took them nearly 3 weeks to get it fixed. I had to use a bucket of water to flush the toilet. I told her I need the tub fixed by the 14th, as my husband is coming home on leave from the military. Even if he was not, this is unacceptable! I was told that the guy who does her maintenance moved to another state. This is not my problem. If he is unavailable, I feel she should get someone locally to fix things in a timely manner! I obtained an estimate from a plumber today for the repairs. Am I legally allowed to have it fixed and deduct it from next month's rent if she does not meet the deadline I proposed? Please state your source, as I do not want to get into legal trouble.

According to Dictionary.com, discrimination is consideration of making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on individual merit.
My question is, do you think this phrase, "S/he isn't my type," is discriminating? If Joe Shmoe asked Jane Doe to go on a date with him, and she told Joe that 'he wasn't her type,' could he sue her for discrimination? There have been weirdier things people have sued someone else over.
