i recently got married and need a passport w/ my new married name, and i need a new driver's license...the thing is that i lost my marriage license and only have a copy...

will the copy be sufficient to get both my drivers license and my passport????

You need to apply for a new social security card first, then you can take your social security card, marriage license and old license to the DMV and they can issue you a new and correct one. Same with your passport.

Contact your local county records office, and you should be able to get a new official copy for minimal cost.

You then bring that to the state DMV, and get a new license.

For the passport, you would send a copy of the license with other information to the State Department. Go to your local post office for the proper forms.

It should be sufficent. Or you can contact the local vital records office in your area and request a copy of your marrage liences.
