work out a deal to pay it off as soon a possible. not turning up for court is a worse offense that stealing something below 100 dollars. get counsel and she could get off with just community service. jail is unlikely.

If anything she will be in more trouble for not showing up to court then for the theft itself. Most likely would not have gone to jail if she went to court the first time.

If she goes ahead and turns herself in she might be able to get off with community service but if she does not turn herself in and the police find her on there own then she is almost guaranteed to get jail time. She made a stupid mistake, but it is forgivable however she must take responsibility for her actions and turn herself in.

A warrant never goes away and I would hate for her to be on her way to good things in life then have this come back to hunt her. Go deal with it now.

Generally, if a person surrenders themselve and offers to pay the outstanding amount owed, the court will not seek any further punishment.

One option would be to contact a lawyer, and ask the lawyer to be an intermediary and negotiate a deal in writing with the prosecutor.

she cant just forget about that warrant c/ if ne thing happens and they run her name and find out that she has an outstanding warrant they will lock her up and put a detainer on her. meaning they wont let her out c/ they think she wont pay it again so they will keep her in ther for maybe 30days maybe longer depending on how much her fine is, to i guess b even wiht her fines or she can call and make a payment arrangment so they will lift the warrant and she will just have to pay on it every month.
