According to guidance available from the DTI website, they must still display the (16?) most common drinks on a price list, which should be clearly legible without any assistance from staff (i.e. having to ask for the price). However, the owner of our local pub says that new EU legislation was introduced in 2006, saying this requirement was no longer mandatory.

Is this correct and, if so, does anyone know where this legislation can be found?

“The degrees to which decisions are ethical are also influenced by organizational culture”. Smith and Johnson differentiate three general approaches that organizations take to responsibility:
1.Social obligation: the organization does only what is legally required;
2.Social responsiveness: the organization responds to pressure from different stakeholder groups;
3.Social responsibility: the organization has an agenda of proactively trying to improve society.

What should be the approach to ethics in order to be able to justify a decision based on ethical criteria?

Do you think bad drugs would have never been made illegal if there were as many users of them as there were of alcohol at their time of being scheduled?

Prohibition comes to mind when I think about this. U.S. tried to make Alcohol illegal in the 20's/30's but this failed. Why? Because alcohol has been around for centuries before meaning its user base would have been very large in the United States. When it was made illegal these "users” got very upset and angry witch caused more crime than alcohol started. As a result they decided to make alcohol legal ounce again.

So ask yourself why this didn't happen with cocaine, marijuana ECT. I simply believe it was because their users base wasn’t near as high as there were alcohol consumers. Thus when they made these illegal there was not many to complain about it or a high demand for it, so crime was very small. Same with marijuana besides money is also a big factor in marijuana as to why it’s illegal.

What's the best way for enforcing putting a deadbeat on child support? I'm due with my 1st baby in 2 weeks and I plan on putting my sperm donor on child support, but they say they will need his SSN and I don't have it...he's NOT going to give it to me cause he knows what I plan to do. He moves around so much that I don't have a steady address for him. What can I do besides get a lawyer? Anything else they can use besides his SSN?

Would it be difficult somehow, for example, to prosecute someone who killed a prostitute because the prostitute had also been engaging in an illegal act (prostitution)? I'm guessing this is not the case, or else no one could prosecute murders of drug dealers or other such unsavory types of people, and that would add up to a lot of murders. I'd appreciate any reliable information and websites.

i recently asked the question if a positive hair follicle drug test was sufficient evidence for me to SEEK supervised visitation while my X visits with my 5 year old. my X has admitted to the courts that he is an addict (crack/coke). recently he failed a drug test, but the judge will not order supervision for his visitation of our child. does anyone know of a precedent where a positive test is sufficient to immediately order supervision. he currently has unsupervised visitation.

Like ask a driver to take car of maintenance on the car and clean the car on his own time. But the company pays all maintanence and cleaning costs. For example, you have to drive to their autobody shop and sit there for two hours while they fix the car. Another example, you have to go to their car wash and wait until the car is washed on your time.
