is there a standard procedure they have to follow before they can garnish a check or tax return? i have a friend who owes support and wants to know ahead of time if they will take his taxes, He has kept all his appointments and has never been seen before a judge in an actual court room. He said he went to the office and the man asked him some question and entered the info into the system and told him to let them know when he gets a job.

My son lives with me for 9 moths of the year. I provide all the care, and up keep. His father, pays very little in child support (less then 300 a month.) There was nothing in the court order stating who can claim the child. In the past I have let him claim our son every other year. Due to some changes. He has 2 other kids that he can now claim. I feel that I am losing out on money, that would be a great help with son.
I did feel out paper work stating he could claim him, how do I change it. (that was 4 yrs go) Help!!!

So I caught my girlfriend cheating on me when I showed up to her apt. I argued with her and the other guy outside of her apt that night. I told the guy to leave or I was going to kick his ***. He left, and I stayed arguing with her. I went into her apt to gather my belongings and kicked her lap top computer out of anger.

Come to find out she filed a police report later that evening. Now I'm facing felony charges. Will I be thrown in Jail?

I have been operating a small fund for the environment for some time now and all the money has been actually coming from my own pocket mainly.
Now we are getting larger and more sophisticated, I dont want to do anything wrong by the ATO so I would like to know when a charity can start to pay some higher workers who do fulltime hours and contractors who provide major services?
I know the money or profit as such (takings/gifts etc) cannot be distributed to the owners or members but are you allowed to legally pay a fulltime worker?
I am led to beleive that MBF medical for example is a non profit organisation but they surely pay their staff a wage to answer calls etc?
When does this become legal to do or is it ok at any level of funding or any size of charity to start paying fulltime workers who have no part of ownership etc of the charity?

Many thanks for any informed answer.
Mick

My sister and I live in the same building. Well, this morning my apartment manager went to my sister and told her that he got a call from the police stating that there may be a possible arrest for me for check fraud (which I know absolutely nothing about). So, I called my apartment manager and he confirmed only my first name and apartment number. So, I called the police station. They would not help me. They told me that the detective should have given him a name and phone number. When I asked my apartment manager for the name and phone number he would not help me. Is there anyway I can find out if I have this so-called-warrent or why the police called him instead of looking for me personally?

Our neighbor is suing us for violation of CCR's, not asking for money, but an injunction against us and future owners to not have a skateramp, shed, tent, or music studio. I thought what I did in my own home and backyard was my business. The skateramp is gone, but was never in violation of any city codes. We have no music business. the "tent" is a boat cover. and the shed is not covered by CCR's because archetectural committe is defunct now. City says they are not concerned with the shed being too close to fenceline. Plaintiff attorney sent a threatening letter to our last broker and current broker about the suit and will not respond to me about my past requests for meet and confers, does not inform me of court dates and in general is a sleeze. Help. I have been on worker's comp over a year, am low on money, but have been in the court system as a court reporter for over 25 years. thanx in advance/

if for EXAMPLE if i get pregnant and the doctor says that there is over 98 percent chance that my baby and me will DIE due to health complications,
and my doc gives me an option for abortion...........why would it be your business? (and NO im NOT referring to abortion for birth control, im referring to a life/death situation)
who are YOU to judge me and my life and look through my medical records and history? would you want ME or any other stranger to look through YOUR medical records and dictate what you should or shouldnt in this time of MEDICAL crisis. Abortion is a MEDICAL ISSUE.
don't you think i as a woman am capable enough to make my own decisions regarding this matter?
abortion is a medical issue between ME and my doctor... who are you to take away my choice? who are you to look through my medical records?

Beer ads are everywhere and sexual themes are being used explicitly. Don't you think it's too much. For instance, I get very distracted when trying to read a piece of news on Yahoo and this flashy leggy chocolate ad with the lady in underwear moves by.

According to the US law when a person becomes a US citizen, he is considered an American. In Argentina, also, once you become a citizen of Argentina, you are an Argentinean. In many countries in the American hemisphere, a naturalization makes you one of them legally. And if you culturally behave ( and look) like one of them you will be treated like such in daily life. Canada is like that, also.

Now, how are things in that respect in Puerto Rico? It is a US Commonwealth but not a state, but I keep hearing one thing- a Puerto Rican is someone who was born there or one whose parent was born there. OK, if culturally this is the case and most PRican people see it that way, is there a legal way to be considered Puerto Rican? At least on paper? So that the law of the Commonwealth would view me as such, that is?

Who is a Puerto Rican (legally) and can one become one?
