Any thing over 8 hours in a 24 hour period should get time and a half. Anything over 40 hours a week should get double time. Working on holidays should also get double time. Your boss can work around this however, if he has under 8 employees working for him.

Yes it is, legally, when you pull a double...Your first shift and second shift requires 2 10 minutes breaks, and 2 half hour lunches per 8 hour shift. But, you cannot be forced to pull a double.

There are no laws in my area. Here if you are off less than two hours between shifts they have to pay you for that time as well.

its common ive seen it alot ... i wish i knew the exact legality of it to... heres the deal: .... they cant force u and in most cases u can explain that physically u cant do that and do not want to do that ... most bosses will comply by either being cool and still giving u the number of hours u want .... but its also easy enough for them to find a way to cut u down to part-time or schedule u for 1 day a week and hire someone willing to do it ... so u have to be careful how u approach it ..

i guess none, what is illegal is if they let you work for more than 8 hrs and not paying you overtime pay for it. but since you have a rest time fr 12am to 6am, nothing is illegal in it.

Depends on where you live, and who you work for. What do you do ?
