This has been a growing problem as unemployment is soaring. Companies see the benefit of new "free trade" outlets for outsourcing into nations with very little labor laws. Also as technology advances, computers replace humans in jobs, since humans have to have wages, insurance, and the like. This displaces many people amoung the lower ranks. However not all bigger corporations are "big meanies", some that are falling financially must make the decision to lay of people in order to save the company.

Big companies also have a powerful impact on legislature via special interest groups. They take out delegates for dinner, donate campaign funds and more to prevent unfavorable legislation, and promote favorable.

With a new turn in Congress with a Democrat majority, who lean on the liberal pro-labor side, there may be some hope. You can always write letter to the company's CEO's or bring it to the attention of your congressional representatives.

I got that same email verbatim about a year ago from a woman I know in NY. I immediately texted her to see if it was real and, surprise, it's a phony. So let Stephen rot in Lagos, where he probably is sitting in an internet cafe hacking real peoples' accounts and sending that email to everyone in their contacts. But it must work at least 1 in 100,000 times or they would come up with a new scam. There are numerous scams out there, many are very believable (this one isn't).

Traitor clinton signed this piece of scrap paper called NAFTA. It gave companies permission to run for the borders in search of cheap labor and created the invasion of Mexillegals to take all the jobs normally filled by teenagers.
You can't blame Bush for that one, either.

I agree and until we get some politicians who care more about the american working class, and less about money, to pass laws that make outsourcing and sending all our jobs to other countries that will do the same for pennies on the dollar it is only gonna get worse.
