I got a ticket for running a red light (supposedly) The cop wrote down that i ran the light and was in an accident. But i wasn't in any accident. Should this result in the case being dismissed? This is in the state of Michigan.

I would take a risk and MAYBE call your insurance agent with the false claim of an accident. If there *actually* had been an accident, the would most certainly have a record of a claim against you. I'm not entirely sure how to properly word how to ask this though as you want to avoid a fine and an increase on your premium. In many cases a detail that substantial is solid grounds for dismissal. Sometimes the officer doesn't show for the court date, also a freebie for you.... Be sure to take a look at the intersection in question for any video cameras above the lights, these will prove beyond a reasonable doubt if you did run the red light. If not, check to see if the cruiser used has a video recording, potentially to your disadvantage, however this would alleviate the question of you being in an accident. This sounds a little more complex than what it should be, but Judges and Police work together, YOU on the other hand have to be PROVEN guilty, not just take a morning off from work to pay a fine. If you know anyone who is an attorney, ask their opinion. Good Luck.

If there's even a slight error on a traffic ticket, it's often dismissed. That's a doozy of an error.
