Can people on the wrong side of the law change their ways.

No those people should put an end to their misery and end every one Else's. Once a child offender always a child offender. Even if they stop the damage is done and irreversible!

People can change their ways but I would not take a chance with our children

I don't think they can really because you always hear on the news about them and its like they do it once and get out of jail and soon after wards they do it again, they go to court and the court tells them they have to go to counseling so they go fool the therapist into believing they change in actuality they don't..

Of course they can. It just has to be worth it. If they suffer enough, or anticipate enough suffering, they will change.

Do we have the courage to apply sufficient pain to make them change? Is it worth the compromise of our present mind-set for one where "the criminal must be motivated to change" is the primary motivation for our criminal justice system rather than "humanity that risks the destruction of our youth"?

I think you are confusing people with that question. Are you talking pediophiles, or people who have committed crimes while juveniles? In either case, the prospects are not good for either reforming themselves.

im NOT A CHILD OFFENDER but i have turned my criminal life around but i do NOT believe child offenders can change!!!!!!!
