So many people talk as if smoking pot is a horrible thing. People get misinformed about it saying that people get lung cancer from it which is not true at all. besides the fact that it is illegal, weed is much safer than cigarettes and alcohol. Have you ever heard of someone smoking pot and beating his wife and kids because he was high on weed.


The only way i see weed ruining someones life is if they get arrested and it goes on their record, making them lose their jobs and look like a criminal or a drug addict to those who know nothing about the real effects of weed.

appointed lawyer that was issued to you while in jail be your lawyer when you have to show up for your next court date? My niece is in jail and went to court once, with an appointed lawyer...now my sister is talking about bonding her out and called the court appointed lawyer to ask him a question, but he said if she bonds her out, that he will no longer be her lawyer. Does that mean one has to be hired? Or when her next court date comes up, another one will be issued to her. I don't understand this and if someone could please explain this I would appreciate it.

Do you think that the same-sex marriage issue issimilar to the Loving v. Virginia issue?

The Loving case had to do with interracial marriage which was banned by somestates in the union.

Can the homosexual population actually argue the similar points of the Loving case slightly adjusted for their cause?

If so, do we by law have the right to stop them [Homosexuals] from marrying given the Loving case?

The nails seemed to be laying right near the escalator without any signs warnings to be careful. I'm quite sure if I didn't step on them, somebody else would have - maybe a child or an elderly person. I know that I should have been more aware of my surroundings, but this is a public place and feel that the store should be responsible for this issue. The manager who took the incident report only wrote my name and number, didn't ask any questions and was on her way. Do I have any legal course of action I may take besides a complaint? What would be the best way to proceed with this?

KarlaHomolka, after spending 12 years in jail for murdering 3 girls including her own teenage sister, has had a baby boy! Her ex, Paul Bernardo is in jail still- the only reason she is out is she made a deal with the prosecution. They kidnapped, raped, and filmed the torture of these girls, and she even raped her own little sister! The deal was made with her even though there were videos of the crimes!! The lawyer for the murderers found the tapes and didnt turn them in to the courts until 1 1/2 years later. They depict Karla as a willing participant in the tortures, not a coercred abused spouse as she alleged. She had a huge wedding with Bernardo, days after they killed her sister, the same day one of the girl's remains were found. If she ever loves this baby as mothers do, she will realize what she did to these other families, and take her own life. Her baby should be given up for adoption with no chance of finding out his mom is a monster. poor kid, didnt ask to be born

I do think this Ban could be very good since second hand smoke has proven to be very dangerous. I do not smoke so I guess I am one sided on this. However it does make me ask a few questions....

#1 it said it would ban kids 13 or under from being in a car when your smiking..... Why until 13, arent kids 13-18 important also? Arent those the kids the try the age groups that watch every movement we make?

#2 Doesnt the smoke stay in the interior of the car when it is smoked in when the kids are not in the car?

#3 If they smoke, the children will still be trapped in the home with the same parents that smoke. Is this not just as bad?

#4 they are writting it that they wont stop you for smoking but will fine you once they have you stopped. Shouldnt they be allowed to stop for that if they can for seatbelts?

I just dont understand how they can seperate it like that.

Recently Rick Perry, the governor of Texas proposed to sell the state lottery to private industry. I was under the impression the lottery was a cash cow for the state and we use the monies to pay for social programs. Is the lottery a financial burden for the state? If not, why would we sell it to private industry so some individual can profit from some other peoples habits? I always knew the lottery was gambling and therefore I never play it but to put it in the hands of private industry sounds ripe with scandal to me. How can we possibly allow this to happen?

A 17 (legal high school dropout) is staying at her mothers friend house, can anybody get in trouble besides the mother?

the daughter explains that the mother is unstable and cannot find a home and therefore has not gone to school.

the mother explains also that she knew her daughter was staying at her mothers friends house and not attending school

the 17 year old is stopped by the police one night and they confront the mother about the daughter who was posessing stolen property and thats when they find out she wasnt with her mother.

the mother lives in nevada and was stopped in california

Two members of the U.S. Supreme Court claim that current salary levels are insufficient to attract the best-qualified candidates. Yet, I've not heard of a single instance in which a proposed appointment was turned down based on salary. Are they underpaid, or are lawyers in general overpaid?

Do we really "want" jurists who are in it for the money, and by "best qualified" do we mean in terms of political and business connections, book knowledge, experience level, or basic common sense? It would seem to me that all of these qualifications except common sense and book knowledge would be more of a hindrance than a help for someone deciding Constitutional issues independent of outside influences, and they have staffs to provide them with book knowledge.

AS I HAD STATED IN MY PREVIOUS QUESTION, I AM SEEKING CUSTODY OF MY DAUGHTER. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT I CAN GIVE MY DAUGHTER A BETTER LIFE DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAVE A SOLID AND SECURE WORK HISTORY AND CAN PROVIDE FOR HER. MY EX HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO KEEP A JOB FOR MORE THAN 1 YEAR AND IS CONSTANTLY BORROWING MONEY TO MAKE ENDS MEET. DON'T GET ME WRONG, SHE LOVES MY DAUGHTER AND SHE TAKES VERY GOOD CARE OF HER BUT I FEEL THAT TAKING MONEY FROM ME TO GIVE TO HER AND ALSO ALLOWING HER TO EVENTUALLY MILK OFF THE SOCIETY WITH WELFARE IS HARDLY THE LIFESTYLE I WANT FOR MY DAUGHTER. Here's the story, last night I pulled the wiper off of my windshield, and it froze to the windshield, it stayed there... i went to school this morning and recieved a $20 ticket underneath that wiper... the ticket was frozen to the ice underneath the wiper, so i have evidence that the $8 wiper could have been broken by the meter maid.... is it worth it? how much paperwork is it? .... and can I get more than just the price of the wiper... how would you go about handling this situation??

My parents lived and owned a home in Cumberland WI. Including myself there are four children and all of us were on the deed to this property. Upon the death of both parents one of my siblings sold said property and all assets, (I am assuming as there is nothing left now). The money was supposed to be split between all of us and I never received anything. One of my other siblings did get some money but was asked to pay it back. While the other two will not tell me anything about what has happened with any of it. I am disabled and I don't have a lot of money to put forth for lawyer fees, so what I am asking is if I have a case that I could pursue or should I just let it go?

Ex-boyfriend received judgement for half his original demand of $2800.00 that he charged on his credit card (I have to pay him $1400.00), however this amount was not from his pocket, it was a credit card charge.

He stated in court that he has not made any payments on the credit card, so could I send the check directly to the credit card account because the suit was for a "credit card transaction?"

Also- Now he claims to have "paid the card off completely" and wants me to send the check to him directly (but I know that this delinquent account has already ruined his credit, so he's not planning on paying it anyway) could I send the check to the credit company anyway and they could mail him a refund, if he really has paid off that account- which he has NOT.

He basically just wants the cash for his pocket- free money. He hasn't paid anything to this credit card, so he isn't out any money at all!!

I cannnot afford to appeal, do I have any other options??

MY EX AND I BROKE UP 3 MONTHS AGO AND I AM CURRENTLY SEEKING CUSTODY OF MY DAUGHTER. SHE JUST UP AND MOVED AND TOOK MY DAUGHTER WITH HER AND NOW I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE SHE MOVED TO. MY LAWYER CLAIMS THAT SHE HAS NO RESPONSIBILITY TO HAVE TO LET ME KNOW WHERE MY DAUGHTER PHYSICALLY RESIDES (AN ADDRESS) AS LONG AS SHE SHOWS UP AT THE POLICE POST AT THE COURT AGREED TIME TO EXHANGE MY DAUGHTER FOR VISITATION. IS THIS REALLY TRUE OR DO I NEED A NEW LAYER?
