KarlaHomolka, after spending 12 years in jail for murdering 3 girls including her own teenage sister, has had a baby boy! Her ex, Paul Bernardo is in jail still- the only reason she is out is she made a deal with the prosecution. They kidnapped, raped, and filmed the torture of these girls, and she even raped her own little sister! The deal was made with her even though there were videos of the crimes!! The lawyer for the murderers found the tapes and didnt turn them in to the courts until 1 1/2 years later. They depict Karla as a willing participant in the tortures, not a coercred abused spouse as she alleged. She had a huge wedding with Bernardo, days after they killed her sister, the same day one of the girl's remains were found. If she ever loves this baby as mothers do, she will realize what she did to these other families, and take her own life. Her baby should be given up for adoption with no chance of finding out his mom is a monster. poor kid, didnt ask to be born

Karla,
Should not be aloud around children period. It would be with great prejudice to her spawn if we were not to protect him as we would any other child. He is an innocent and we should help that he remain that way. Children from abusive homes, even in the mildest of forms, suffer throughout their lives from bad personality traits borne from their need to survive their circumstances. Do we honestly think that she will be a loving Mother.
Or how about the stigma this society, myself guilty, will apply to this poor child! The kindest thing she could do is let this child be adopted and his original identity forever hidden from society's judgment. It would only be human and unfair but society as a whole will view him with bias wondering if he too is somehow afflicted as his Mother is. I empathize with this poor child's inevitable circus like media existence. If Karla, you truly are rehabilitated do the right thing. Show us you can put another humans life above your own. Free your son from the inevitable. Then I who despise you so would defend your right to peace here on in as I would truly believe you were reformed.

OMG!! I was so outraged that she had a baby. Why when so many people are trying to have babies this monster gets blessed to have a baby. She does not deserve this joy. One thing though you are right she now will feel more understanding as to what HELL the parents of the kids she killed now that she has her own. Everything changes when you have a child. I can't even imagine what kind of a life this child will have when he finds out who is monster mom is. As for your question....I think sterilization should have been part of her punishment. Know that she has the child..what can we do. It is not part of her sentence that she cannot keep a child. I HOPE the baby is put up for adoption but I highly doubt it.

I agree. For the baby's safety, both physically and mentally, I think she should be forced to give him up for adoption. Originally her sentence dictated that as a condition for her release, she not be allowed contact with persons under the age of 16, but she petitioned, successfully to have that lifted. Still, she could be found to be unfit and have the baby removed, which I sincerely hope happens. I feel sorry for the families of the women she murdered...the victims can surely not have families thanks to Karla. (Leane Teale is the name she is going by now)

I can't believe she is out of prison!!!!

They can deem her unfit and take the baby and by all means they should!!!

Anyone who could rape and murder their own baby sister, CANNOT be reabilitated and almost certainly will have no more compassion or empathy for her own child than she did her own sister.

this is a tough one...what she did is horrible, unthinkable and plain inexcusable. Has she found God? Has she repented? What has lead the parole board and everyone to think this is o.k? I cannot say what is in someone's heart but this is between her and her maker...hope for the best for this child.

It's not bernardo's baby, so there's still a 50-50 chance the baby wont be a psychotic monster.

I tend to agree, but I don't see any way you could force that legally. She's out of jail now.

I think that she should still be in jail for the rest of her natural life for her crimes, so the answer is no. I feel so sorry for that baby.
