Im not the one to sit and watch tv.It just ennoys me.My step father has Maury on.I heard a child screaming and crying in a way I knew the child was being hurt.I turn around to look at tv for a second and Maury was showing a man who was hitting, punching and throwing a 3 year old down on his bed. This beating went on for awhile. It hurt to watch that.I knew child abuse exsisted but that was a eye opener. The first thing that came to my mind was there would be no police coming to get him,he would leave my house in a body bag.The mother suspected abuse on her baby and 3 year old.Wired the house with video cameras and caught her bf beating her kids. She got him arrested. He is charged with 2 counts of child abuse. He is serving 4 years in jail.My God this is not enough. What do you think the sentence should be?

The United Kingdom and The USA has come last in the Unicef 'child wellbeing table'. The true measure of a nation's standing is - how well it attends to it's children - their health and safety, their material security, their education and socialization, and their sense of being loved, valued and included in the families and societies into which they are born. Should Children and young people not organise to demand to demand 'their civil and human rights' in a kind of children's revolt.
Children need rights of their own, and adults should support them in their quest for such rights. Children are the dymamic of our future.

I have a really good friend who finally got 'with the times' and purchased a cell phone with a camera.

He is quite happy with his purchase and has felt the need to get the most out of his investment by using the camera as much as he can...

Well, he has just been snapping random pictures of people everywhere he goes (NO, THEY ARE NOT SEXUAL)...just random shots. (These people are NOT aware the pictures are being taken)

He takes them, saves them to his PC and forwards them onto his friends.

Just today, I received pictures of the woman at the post office, the baker and some random person behind him in line.

He tells me he 'pretends' to check his phone when he is snapping these pictures.

I've told him its wrong and to stop immedietly, but he continues...how should I handle this?

I am an employee in California, our boss has threatened to put a camera in the breakroom. I have heard this is illegal in California but I am having a little trouble verifying if this is true.

One place I read:
The laws in thirteen states expressly prohibit the unauthorized installation or use of cameras in "private" places. These states include: Alabama, Arkansas, California, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, South Dakota, and Utah. In these states, the installation or use of any device for photographing, observing or eavesdropping actions or audio in a "private" place without permission of those being observed or listened to is a crime punishable by law.

This idea of “expected privacy” includes areas such as bathrooms, locker rooms, changing and dressing rooms, bedrooms, and other areas where a person may expect a certain level of personal privacy.

It is worth while to point out people do change in the breakroom.

I moved into a house with my girlfriend 18 months ago and we still get letters and phone calls for the previous owner form their childrens school, banks, horse club (don't ask) my girl friend accidently opened a smear test appointment letter, we did the right thing and called the NHS to say she'd moved and yet we still get letters etc. . They didn't even leave a forwarding address!!

To top it all off, tonight I had a women on the phone (I assume it was a friend) asking to speak to the previous owner and she didn't even know she had moved!! Is there anything legally I can do (other than move house!)??

(forgot to add this in earlier, sorry)

I have already sent back mail (to the royal mail) saying not known at this address and have been doing so for the past 18 months

Should I really have to change my number, why should I take the time to change it and tell all ou friends & family just because she couldn't be bothered to tell anyone?

HELP!! - I'm going out of my mind!

John Austin, the positivist who is the author of Argument A, draws up his argument attempting to show that the judge is not practicing morality when he disregards the criminal’s claim of immorality towards the death penalty. A natural law theorist would argue against this claim by identifying that although the judge is disregarding morality in this situation, there is a more important consideration the judge must make in order to promote common good. The sovereign had already posited and promulgated the punishment of that action. Being that the sovereign has the proper authority, if the judge were to demonstrate this moral argument for the reasoning, he/she would be using his own moral principle against that of the sovereign. Natural law agrees with using morality and principles; however, they do not agree with changing a law based on individual moral principles. That kind of behavior would have adverse effects because the law would then no longer carry the same amount of authority. Law stands for order, stability, and reliability. Altering it based on one person’s moral objection would be detrimental to law in and of itself. Custom is what attains the force of law. The natural law theorist would then clarify that the argument is not that morality is taken into consideration when making an actual judgment on a case; rather that the law was already posited and created with morality in mind. After it is posited by the sovereign, it is for the betterment of the common good for a judge to abide by that law, since both the criminal him/herself as well as the judge do not have proper de jure authority to object to an already posited punishment of a law.

By the number of questions on the matter I've seen, not to mention exposure out of YQ&A, it seems the belief is widely endorsed.

So, why is it that, in spite of the sixteenth amendment, so many people stilll seem to believe they don't have to file tax returns, or pay income tax... also, how is it you needed a constitutional amendment to hammer the point of taxation (the State needs money to function, and it needs taxes to have money) in?

As a secondary question, is it possible that those who are in this belief share other common points? (conservative republicans, born again/evangelical christians, or whatever)

I live in an apartment complex, and for the past week they've been working on the apartment complex next door. They're painting it, using paint thinner and paint, and the strong chemical smell has been wafting into my non-insulated apartment for several days now. I feel like I've been unusually foggy-headed over these past days. Could that by why?
The other complex is run by a different management company, but should I complain about this? (As in "You should've warned the local residents that you were going to be using these chemicals") Is there anything I can do??
I'm really upset about the situation, since the painters told me yesterday that this will be going on for a MONTH! Any advice appreciated... thanks.

I was recently diagnosed with an odd infection whose origins niether I or the doctors have been able to trace.

I DO HAVE THAT PEANUT BUTTER WITH THE CODE 2111 ON IT AND I DID EAT IT BEFORE I BECAME SICK.

This disease may be CHRONIC...I might have to deal with this crap for the rest of my life and I am so angry and depressed by it, and to know that some irresponsible company released this junk on me is just too much.

So if anyone is bringing about a class action lawsuit that I can join or that maybe I should start, please let me know.

My brother was murdered recently. He was divorced, no children, no property, no will however he had some 401K, life insurance, profit sharing. Those monies go to his ex wife as is his wish...though personally that gets my craw...anyhow.

I have paid all of the funeral expenses. In going through his personal items there are bills that are due currently and some outstanding.

Since this is the first death in our family where nothing was pre-planned or already taken care of via will. What bills are we responsible for? I know we're to post something in the newspaper but what does that mean exactly?

He owes a cell phone, landline, electric, water, plus myriad of other service type bills.

Burying my brother and all the expenses that have incurred is sort of breaking my bank need some guidance and assistance

Ok. Here is the situation. I took my truck to walmart to have the oil changed. They ended up wrecking my truck. The walmart headquarters for customer claims sent me enough for the estimate and enough for a rental car. It ends up that I am not old enough to rent a car so i ended up just borrowing my granny's truck to travel back and forth. Should I send the walmart people back the money for the rental car or should i keep it? i could give it to my granny b/c she has to use a old crappy car while i use hers. I didn't know what i should do? would i get in trouble for keeping the money (it's like 220 bucks)?
