The family can jointly file (and most likely win) a wrongful death suit against the State, and the State Department of Corrections, with some help from the U.S. Atty (Washington DC) Civil Rights Commission, Disabled Rights Div. Denial of medication to a prisoner is a federal felony, but you must file a complaint, no one is watching. There are no Federal cops to police the police in prison. Unfortunate but they usually get away with it.

first you need a lawyer. Can you afford a lawyer? Then you need proof the death was a result of medication not given. Then charges would have to be brought against the dr. since it would have been the dr who did not allow the med. It is not likelly that medication was refused by the corrections dept. Then the doctor has to prove that his refusual was correct, or it will be a malpractise case

Yes. If it can be proven that corrections was aware of his need for the medication AND that the death was the result of the lack of medication.

If he was under a physicians care, and the guy in prison was given a perception, then yes
charges can be filed. You need a good Lawyer....I'm sorry for your loss.

If it was critical that he take them and they can prove that he was denied his meds which resulted in his death. Yes, you can file a lawsuit.

Gee, I don't know ... I always obey the law and have never ended up in prison.

I think you would have a hard time proving that any vital medicine was denied. Are you sure about this?
