I live in an apartment complex, and for the past week they've been working on the apartment complex next door. They're painting it, using paint thinner and paint, and the strong chemical smell has been wafting into my non-insulated apartment for several days now. I feel like I've been unusually foggy-headed over these past days. Could that by why?
The other complex is run by a different management company, but should I complain about this? (As in "You should've warned the local residents that you were going to be using these chemicals") Is there anything I can do??
I'm really upset about the situation, since the painters told me yesterday that this will be going on for a MONTH! Any advice appreciated... thanks.

First, speak to your landlord about the effects you are feeling, and you ARE, from these fumes. If nothing is done to 'fix' the problem, go directly to your health dept, and 'nicely ask this':
I live in an apartment complex where there is painting going on that causes MY apartment to be filled with noxious fumes. I know I feel lightheaded, and my mind seems foggy. What can you DO to help me?" If the person is lazy and does not help you, contact the environmental control offices in your city. THEY CARE. They can test your air to see if it is really bad for you! There is a lot of help out there for you, if you take the initiative to go to them. DO it! Do you have children? Are you pregnant? If the answer is yes, RUN to the Health Dept and ask, immediately!
