Im not the one to sit and watch tv.It just ennoys me.My step father has Maury on.I heard a child screaming and crying in a way I knew the child was being hurt.I turn around to look at tv for a second and Maury was showing a man who was hitting, punching and throwing a 3 year old down on his bed. This beating went on for awhile. It hurt to watch that.I knew child abuse exsisted but that was a eye opener. The first thing that came to my mind was there would be no police coming to get him,he would leave my house in a body bag.The mother suspected abuse on her baby and 3 year old.Wired the house with video cameras and caught her bf beating her kids. She got him arrested. He is charged with 2 counts of child abuse. He is serving 4 years in jail.My God this is not enough. What do you think the sentence should be?

No, 4 years isn't enough time, but what can we do? The laws just aren't strong enough to discourage this crime. If it makes you feel better, you are not alone in the way you feel. I sometimes cry about the abuse on children. I become sad some evenings, knowing that some child is being sexually abused through the sex trade that exists in and out of this country. My heart is broken because I can do nothing to stop this horror.

I try to be observant when I'm out. If I see even the slightest infraction, I call 911. I've been watching the Date Line show where they catch these filthy men who solicit sex from teenagers. How frightening is it that a man on the internet can reach my child on the computer, come to my house while I'm at work, and have sex with her (or even worse, murder my child)? These are professional, married men with children of their own. Yet they can target children for sex and see nothing wrong. My God!

I take a child studies class at my high school and I had to do a report on child abuse. The horror of it is unimaginable. Who would want to hurt an innocent child who can't defend themselves? It's horrible.

In my opinion, child abusers should get AT LEAST a sentence of more than 10 years. Higher for some. Child abusers are preying on the weak and innocent and they deserve to be locked away for as long as possible.

There should be a seperate institution for people who harm children. They should be locked up for 42 years. The first 21 years for the child's first 21 years and another 21 years for the adult-child who has to spend their life in therapy.

The consequences of your acts, good or bad, will be greater in reward or punishment than that of the law of man.

Throughout history we have seen witch hunts, massacres, sexual abuse, torture against innocents, etc. We as incarnates tend to think that there will be no justice outside of our hands. That is just how it seems to us but no one really gets away with anything once they transition to Spirit. Horrific karma will be awaiting immoral and indifferent criminals.

Life in prison for me. You beat an innocent child and that's enough for me to throw away the key.

However, there are plenty of people here on Yahoo Answers that believe that kind of thing builds character in the child. . . . .jerks.

5 year minimum. I mean especially thinking of all the psychological damage this child has now endured...this child has to live with that memory FOR THE REST OF HIS/HER LIFE!!! This might also greatly halter their development. What's four years to the child abuser?

If he embezzled he would get more time. It's a ridiculous judicial system. Money is valued more than children it seems. Ever seen Clockwork Orange? That would be a good punishment.
