Someone in a chatroom has repeatedly suggested that they want to kill you, or that you should kill yourself. Of course, screen shots, all sorts of evidence is needed. What sort of evidence is needed, and what legal steps can a person take to stop this or convict the person?

I Live in NY and called my Stepmother in Cali. Only to find out that our family is in turmoil. She stated that one of my nephews (age16 or 17) was accused by another nephew (5 years old) of being innaproprite. This only came after a doctors vist confirmed the 5 year old might be telling the truth. When confronted the older boy denied it and his mother and father refused to press the issue.
This is all the info I was given. It was not enough to know if the police have been called. Should I call just to be on the safe side? Or should I leave it up to them. ( I don't have contact with either step sister ( the mothers of the nephews)). Should I also cancel my plans to visit if i do call? HELP?

My Employer, a large airline, is forcing all employees to sign a document stating employees may not engage in ANY type of behavior that is considered "offensive " at any time , while either on or off duty. As an example if I am overheard (at dinner in a public restaurant, off duty,) saying my boss is unethical and a crook, and some other employee or boss loving person nearby is offended by it, they can inform the Co., and I will be terminated, without recourse. In violation of the 1rst amendment, I can no longer speak my opinions without fear of reprisal.
for those who will say, if you don't like it, QUIT. don't bother replying. that's not an answer!

For most of history it seems like society has held primacy. People were expected to meet social norms, and if not they were burned at the stake, punished, or marginalized. It seems like the trend has reversed somewhat and that society caters more and more to the individual. Specifics include the rejection of corporal punishment, political correctness, and welfare. Which is correct, or does it depend on the situation?

do you think that if a pregnant woman loses her fetus/embroyo due to a criminal act (assult, mugging, ect) that the criminal should face extra penalties?

I'm pro-choice and don't think human life begins until the association areas of the brain are developed, but if I get pregnant and want my fetus to grow and be born than why does someone get away with causing me to miscarry?

I've known people who got into physical fights and the person intentionally went for their abdomon because they were pregnant. I think those people should be charged with an illegal abortion.

Maybe we could have a 'pregnant penalty', if you attack a pregnant woman you get an extra charge.

any thoughts?

My dads wife of 14 yrs. left him not letting her whereabouts be known. She is renting an apartment has bought herself new furniture and new vehicle '06. My dad suffered mental anguish and all that good stuff that comes with pain. After 7 mths pass my dad finds a girlfriend & moves her in. His wife has come to the house on 3 seperate occasions & has picked up practically everything in the house just leaving bedrm. set my dad bought, livingrm. tv, & 1 sofa. The last time she came she yanked ALL curtains off including the shower. Not mentioning asking him to pay off all her credit cards before showing signs of her leaving him with his retirement $. So she took all his retirement $ closing that acct. transferred her 401k into her daughters bank acct. My dad has not worked in the last 4 yrs. Looks like this was a plan. Now my dad is stuggling for $ selling his horses, cars, jewelry, tools, etc. Can she file adultry on my dad or can my dad file abandonment?

first of all, i want to say that my grades are fairly good. my grades are slightly better than average, but im on the verge of failing. i dont have enough credits to graduate on time. ive been to 4 different highschools and my last school's credit system was different than this one. i was only given 1/2 credit per semester at my old school and this school gives you a full credit per semester. at my old school i needed less credits to graduate because the classes gave you less credits. when i came to my new school, i was short of credits because of my old highschools credit system. my grades were good enough to get me into both chemistry 2 and advanced math yet im about to fail? i dont think this is right at all. i want to graduate with the rest of my class. where should i go to get help? ive talked to a couple of my teachers and my counsler but they arent helping me. theyre just telling me to take a night class but i really just want to graduate normally like i should be able to.

I'm probably one of the few willing to serve jury duty and they have yet to pick me I get the notice and call the number when I'm supposed to and it says no you have not been picked. Yet some of my family has been picked and all 4 times their cases are postponed because a juror who was selected didn't show up or thought of a reason why they couldn't do it so an alternate had to be used. I've written to the courts and asked why can't someone who wants to serve actually serve and in 5 months have yet to get a response

Because they charged a portion of my trip to the other passenger in my party, we went in to correct the mistake. They confirmed that the charge was to go on my account, however they forgot to put it through. I paid for everything in March and went on the trip in May. Now I'm getting emails requesting the balance they forgot to charge. It seems a little strange, since if any other service forgot to charge you it would be their mistake. I'm a student and on a tight budget, so I just want to ensure they are not scamming me.

two days ago I requested a duplicate key for my locker room in my condo . I had lost the original. Sure...No problem said the Office girl and "complimentary'. I wait for the key. I again went to the office the next day...will call you whenit is ready. No call. When I went to the office to-day the key was ready and cost $2.00. I thought it was "complimentary. " NO said the Property Manager and no saif the office girl ..She NEVER SAID IT WAS COMPLIMENTARY. The Office Manager told me that it is impossible to give it to me for free. I said I would pay for it . He said he would let it go this time but it cannot be free.
I was getting mad. The girl said it was complimentary and then changed her comments. This is the second time she has done this to me. On another occassion she lost my cheque and tried to convince me that I had not even given her one. I dilike this behaviour. What can I say or do to prevent this from happening again???

is it legal, if a school takes away your cell phone, that they can look through your text messages, and pictures, and get into your personal life?

is it legal, for a school to hold you after school hours? today i waited almost half an hour when someone informed me that unless i go in and get my brother he is not allowed to leave because everyone was in trouble for talking, oh and that was PE class. is that stupid or what. you are only not supposed to talk in classes where you need to hear the teacher or where silence is needed for studying.

My little bro and sis go to this extremely stupid private school because my mom is religious, but their policy is insane and makes no sense. Almost everyone working at that school is a power control freak!

And if they dont pray loud enough they get in trouble. Kinda defeats the purpose of religion where you are given a 'choice' doesnt it?

Any help on state or local student rights for Stockton California would be very much appreciated. :)
